Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Onya Frankie...i suspect PJ is asking the same questions.

There is something missing at this club

Nobody knows what it is....

it's the clubs balls SWYL

time to let every bloke on our list know they haven't earned the right to be untouchable, every single player has two games to prove they deserve to stay.

time for some big calls, we know Roosy can coach, they have a plan, the players either fit into that or they go elsewhere and we get someone in who will.

No other profession would allow such below par performances consistently without jobs being on the line, we should be no different.

I don't know if it says more about me or the club that I've become so used to and desensitised by games like today that I don't even find myself outraged anymore

Same. You can feel it in the crowd too. I just didn't care when Carlton got ahead, I didn't find it surprising. Lucky we played a little good footy to not make it a complete waste of a day

I feel you mate. Today I have just been miserable. I have tried so hard to remain positive all year but the last 8 matches have been disgraceful overall and have chipped away at my resilience until I just broke today. It is getting extremely hard to see us ever turning around what seems to be an ingrained cloak of failure that surrounds us. I feel like I have been cheated in a way for all the misery this club has made me suffer. The game of Aussie Rules is supposed to be enjoyable, how can it be when you are asked to remain strong through torture after 9 years and no end in sight? I actually stormed out at half time cos I couldn't take it - the idea of doing that even a few years ago would have been laughable, but this is how much they have broken me down. I have been to 1 non-mfc game this year when in previous years I would go to 15 easily. This mob is killing me. I have read tonight a great deal of people talking about how today represents the last straw after long periods of unconditional support and inevitable disappointment, and I cannot blame anybody one little bit.

I feel exactly the same C and B. Well put. Edited by old dee

Yep. I was there yesterday also for a very dirty day for the Pies - but their supporters were so loud, even in the face of a terrible display they showed passion. I am not bagging our supporters but it is clear and obvious to me that your average Melbourne supporter has just been completely numbed and jaded over time that there isn't even outrage at the atrocities of footy being commited before our eyes. Seeing our supposedly best players such as Vince hit the opposition on the chest under no pressure is not even an eclamation point at this stage. It's just like 'yeah what else is new?'. At half time you could just see people streaming out with a dead look of resignation that suggests it will be even harder to drag themselves in and try to support them next year. Very grim times.

Any evidence the rest are any good?

Jeez, there's nearly one for every player at the club.

Maybe get rid of 10 of them and spend a few hundred thou on a sports psychologist

So, including the players the club is staffed by about 100 people - what a miserable job this company does.. maybe they should all pack it in and start manufacturing corn tortillas or something, might at least be profitable

There was a whole lot of nonsense on the website about Roos saying they had to come out like maniacs this week after the doggies loss. What an absolute joke.

they came out like maniacs fresh from lobotomies. Is it wrong of me to be considering attending this Friday's training at Domain stadium with the intention of heckling the players and coaches?

Totally agree. I woul sack the ENTIRE leadership group on monday morning if i was able to.

The output in the first half was the worst i have seen. We were playing a rubbish busted team on the MCG and they toyed with us....

What I want is a serious number of changes to the team that plays Freo next week.

We have been giving players who cannot produce games for weeks now.

How about we change a few?

Oh no that will make Casey worse and after the effort they put in to make the finals why should they be penalised.

On reflection lets play the same lot why should they be allowed to get out of the spot light.

It used to be funny hearing the crowd react to our mistakes, now there's not a lot of reaction. In fact it was really quiet around where I was bar one guy who stood up and didn't even wear Melbourne colours. There's not of joy to be had for fans (especially when we don't even kick it long towards Hogan) and they are too used to the poor stuff that they just find it boring to get involved yet again.

Hope the trip west is a wakeup call of sorts. Whether that takes place before or after the game. I don't think Roos will wanna get flogged so it'll be interesting to see if we try to fight for a nil all draw (which is probably a good thing given our first quarters in the past few weeks)

I don't normally rant and rave and start threads complaining but today is the last straw.

I want an apology from the playing group and a proper explanation to why they decided to give up or not try against the bottom of the club side.

There is no pressure no taclking no running and no leadership.

After years of being a member and watching every game I've had enough and I won't renew my membership unless I get an apology from the club players.

This performance is utter [censored]

worst part of today was the no tackling and every one of their tackles stuck, we were pathetic in that regard, could NOT break a frickin' tackle......pisspoor!!!

What about Garlett jumping up bring down that monster, just grabbed him arund the head, gave away a free, and just clung on, not even impeding the bloke's ability to dispose of the ball, one of the most feeble attempts at a tackle I've seen in some time, flat out embarassing. Other times he just gets brushed asideor doesn't even try, he is weak as [censored]

Our memberships are paid for a full season. We've effectively pulled the handbrake after round 12 for years. We especially get more pathetic in the last few rounds. Every other team in our position on the ladder is still having a Crack. We didn't even try yesterday. Why would you bother renewing your membership? The players just don't care.

Well I am.

Yours is a laughably naive response.

Welcome to following a football club.

This is not normal though. This is not a football club its a disaster zone. No other clubs supporters have been through such a long period of darkness and ineptness. A club should bring its supporters some joy every now and then... we get none.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
