8 is still the pass mark for me.

We should have been knocking on the door of the top eight if we weren't so poor against St Kilda twice and Essendon.

We'd be 8-9 instead of 6-11, and a genuine finals chance. Beat the Saints the first time I mean. We were never in it last week. We only needed the first game against them. Shot themselves in the foot. A bit of belief in themselves for longer than a 7-day period and we'd be within finals contention.

Our major problem is IMO kicking .

Both for Goal and in the field

By my count we missed four goals on Saturday that the good sides kick and numerous times we were in control and then turned the ball over with poor kicks.

That IMO is a serious skill shortage.

Only more player replacement will fix that.

Let's see whether we can be 7 and 11.

NM don't scare me much but they have had the wood over the club for a decade...

Jump over that hurdle and that will be the third major win of the year that makes this season a success - that we got something out of this year.

(If Richmond do anything this year, I will retroactively make that one of those three - we made them look 'insipid' didn't we, dimma?)

Trying to guess our remaining wins would be like picking the correct lotto numbers IMO!

Yes "Form" is something you leave out when considering the MFC

There's an interesting element that most of the teams on our fixture (North, Footscray, Carlton, GWS) have been a bit up and down this season, even where they are clearly better performing overall.

North are famously flaky this season.

We beat the Doggies within a few weeks of them hammering Sydney at the SCG.

The Giants are crazily up and down. A real roller-coaster ride for their fan.

Carlton... vary between 'awful and disinterested' and 'awful, but making an effort'.

Of course, all that really matters is if the version of Demons that beat Richmond, the Bulldogs, Geelong and Collingwood turns up.

With that team on the field, I'd give us a chance of going 4 from 5!

Realistically, two wins and a draw would give us enough to feel positive going into the pre-season and make 2015 our equal best season since 2006.

I'd take that as our reasonable 'over-under' measure for satisfaction.

The problem with any prediction for the remaining games, let alone even next week, is that we are by some enormous margin the LEAST predictable team of 2015. Really, who the hell knows?!

Amazing, isn't it? Had the boys defended for 40 seconds against the Saints and kicked straight against Essendrug then we are one game out of the 8. One. It's almost hard to believe.

Clearly we aren't ready to be a finals side but had anybody here said we could possibly be 8-9 at this stage of the season we all would have taken it.

Obviously that hasn't happened but it just goes to show how much we have improved and matured as a side. We have a long way to go but we've also come from such a long way back.

In the last 4 weeks we have kicked 34.55... which is a 38% success rate... whereas the league average is 57%.. this means we have couched up about 4 goals a week which seems about right looking back at the last month - there is no doubt whatsoever that we cost ourselves a win against the dons

I cant remember our last win against North, I also cant remember the last time we played them at the MCG.

Get it done.

It was R14 last year. We lost by 41.

13 in a row to these bastards

Come on OD, Collingwood may not have won for 5 weeks but they were playing great teams in that span and pushing them to the final siren

We broke them

It was a great victory

That line was acceptable on Saturday and Sunday h_h

What a life you lead OD. If only we could live in perpetual negativity like you.

I stuck it up every Pie supporter I know today and read every footy article I could get my hands on. Nothing like a win over the filth to kick start a good week!

I have done similar but if you continually think the MFC will instantly change from pauper to prince after one game you will be sadly disappointed.

Pies game is history the much harder North awaits in 6 days time.

Someone recently highlighted the need to celebrate our wins. He suggested that if we don't enjoy our successes then what's the point. Live a little old dee.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
