Stretch's pass to Hogan who then kicks a goal. I'd say that that hurt the opposition.

Redleg and I bumped into Joeboy at Tommy Ruff's fish place in Elsternwick during the week.

Absolutely boring game.

We won but I am not convinced we are advancing in our gameplay nor standards. Turnovers were shocking AGAIN!!!!

time to end your life we won.

Howe- Probably our best

Probably cop some flack for this but Howe was close to our best today. He was everywhere and laid some important tackles.

By no means does it make up for his poor season so far, but credit where credit is due, Howe was very good today.

Brian Taylor - clearly no idea

"Jeremy Howe has had a fantastic season"

"No velvet trumpeter today. Usually for Melbourne home games you see him at the start of the match"

It's ignoramuses like him overrating Howe that will help us get overs during trade week.

The new trumpeter was there yesterday. He was just starting up when the siren sounded - short quarter - so he held back and started again in sync with the PA.

Surely club recruiters are a little bit more with it than some of the buffoons in the media.

One would hope but then we have had some shockers not so long ago.

Dunn outstanding season? Bollocks!

To be fair to Joeboy, Dunn has spent most of his career out standing in the field somewhere, usually pointing. But I'm with you. I think Dunn was outstanding last year whereas this year I think he's been a bit hot and cold.

Harmes - showed a bit.

What I liked about him was his clean hands and his ability to kick with both feet. 15 disposals and 3 tackles isn't bad for his second game.

His kick to advantage to Vandenberg in the first quarter was also good.

I thought he was great. Stood up well in the contest for a second gamer. Liked his patience and ball use.

Its the small things you look for in these early games for the younger guys. Saw similar things from Brayshaw in the first few games from tackling to battling hard in a contest and eventually breaking out with good ball use and decision making. Harmes is on the right track.

I also think Stretch does a lot of the small things really well. Runs well and positions himself well. The defensive side of his game is great. Layed some terrific tackles. Look forward to seeing him develop.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
