Disagree. Jayden has never had a chance being injured continually. Think the list people would have wanted to see what he could do when fit and developed, before they made that call.

You could have said the same about Heath Neville too though, Redleg. In the AFL if you're a bottom draft pick and can't get on the park for two years, you are almost never retained. You have to show at least a slither. He hadn't, now he has.

Hunt breaks the line and could have gone for goal but lowers the eyes and delivers it to Scott in the goal square.

Great effort scorps! Annoyed with myself that i didn't go. Let yesterday's result put me in to much of a negative mood.

Serves me right! Oh well, the afternoon at home with the wife and son has been nice.

Was Heath Neville 187cms tall, quick, talented and a late convert to Aussie Rules?

He obviously had attributes that the recruiters liked - all players recruited do.

Surely that's a mistake. When did Jamar ever get 23 disposals at any level? (Seriously, well done big fella)

Exactly 23, or 23 or more? He got 25 against Collingwood in 2010, and 23 against Brisbane in 2011.

You're welcome :)

Edit: Incidentally, in that draw against Collingwood, they kicked 9.22 to our 11.10. Days where sides miss a truckload of goals do happen sometimes.

Michie and Riley getting a heap of the ball in these conditions isn't wholly surprising, but nice to see anyway.

Grimes and Toumpas laying a bucketload of tackles is also important.

Along with Spencer and Jamar who appear to have done well in the ruck (given it's pouring, that's no mean feat), there are at least some names floating around for selection.

Then there's North Melbourne in the '98 GF

Then there's Geelong in the '08 Grand Final

That aside, I think it's a massive effort from the Casey side to do that to Port, especially in such shocking conditions. I'm thrilled that Hunt is starting to show some return on the work he's been puttin gin after all those injury issue too. He has some massive attacking weapons if he can make it to AFL level.

wonder what the toump's role was - that's a heap of tackles and unusual for him to not be in the key ball winners at vfl level.

where was newton?

We've really played Toump outside this year both at vfl and afl level. Cannot imagine he was under the ruck man to get possies like Michie today.

Newton was there - just not much from him today on the stat line.

KC, thank you as always. Jayden Hunt - overall thoughts? Is the real issue that he's lightly framed? I've always assumed, given his background, that he'd be a late bloomer.

Toump is not a grunt inside type - but I've seen him put his body on the line multiple times.... Which for his size is a lot more then can be said for some others

If he can get his confidence up and stop making fumbly errors (which I hope come with experience) then I still think he'll be a handy player

Im not too sad he's in the magoos to get some confidence up... Hope he did ok in conditions which don't suit him

Go Scorps. Will be missing the game due to travel to Sydney for work. Appreciate any updates you can give from the sidelines - as much as you can handle.

Just got home. You were lucky to miss. Conditions absolutely the worst I have seen in years. Casey handled them pretty well. The Borough only scored goals in the second qtr. The 3rd was the worst qtr of footy I have seen in 60 years. The rain was heavy and constant. Real olde tyme footy. Every qtr went more than 30 minutes because of the rolling stoppages.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
