Any updates at all regarding Brayshaw?

If he was subbed as a precaution and does not have concussion or a neck injury then he must play.

Posted (edited)

Said before, i like this brutal approach but Roos won't do any of it. He is too much of a nice guy.

Wasnt Clarko quoted as doing this a couple of weeks back and in his own words "it had little to no effect". Again, being brutal and coming to play should be a weekly thing, not something that hinges on articles written or milestone games. Edited by Al's Demons

Pace is great if you can use the football.

These two cant even hold a chest mark so running fast doesn't bloody help.

Exactly, play to our strengths not their weaknesses.

Roos would have had a view to this game before W.C's (not water closet's) game from a getting up point of view.

We can't get to the stage of having Brayshaw in to win. Only if fully fit. end of story.

Real S E Game this!!

I dont get too tall

We played two key tall forwards and a resting ruck

So did west coast

Our talls are ineffective. Their talls take marks, run, chase and actually lay effective tackles.

We also have Howe who is hopelessly out of form, compare him to Darling at a similar height and position.

So effectively we have 3 tall forwards and a resting ruck. Hogan is the only one worth a game at the moment, he didn't have a great one on the weekend but kept at it and got a bit of the ball.

Bombers weren't to bad against Hawks and Meth Coast in their previous outings before the bye, Like Brissy today for 3/4's, Suns yesterday and Toiges yesterday you must bring the right attitude because if you go into any AFL game with the wrong mindset it is gone and their tails are up before you can do anything about it leaving yourself playing catch up and using a hell of a lot of tickets in the process which is not ideal coming back from the heat of Darwin.

We need to bring the intensity to this game which we brough to Geelong, Richmond and Dogs, make it known early we are switched on hit them harder than the Saints hot them this week under no circumstances do we allow them to get any confidence up. Play the video of 2013 in the closing stages and what they did to us and what they did to our fans, show them Bomber blitz and us being tin rattlers, Long's hit on Simmonds in 2000, numerous Matty Lloyd articles/interviews slating us, fook em do whatever it takes but it is time to make a statement against this club we haven't forgotten and our time is coming

Never forget...

Pace is also great for applying pressure on the other team. Their defensive efforts against Geelong and the Dogs were good and I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them keep their spot this week (more likely M Jones).

Both feared contact when running back with the flight of the ball inside 50 and dropped easy marks. When Jack Watts missed a similar one earlier this year this site crucified him. BOTH had easy marking opporrtunities in the F50 and crapped their dacks fearing an oncming opponent. Irony was that there was no opposition player coming at them.

DUDS...Absolutely duds. We have put up with it for 5 years.

If you're describing what happened in the last game, I didn't have a chance to watch so can't comment. What I will say, though, is that in the roughly 70 games that each has played prior to the WCE game, both Bail and M Jones have tried as hard as anyone. I'll take the 70 games worth of evidence over individual incidents in one game any day.

Looking at the Saints vs Essendope stats. The clearances were 39 to 34 Saints way. Agree with other posters that we don't need two ruckman, just run. Heppell got 30+ possessions, so put Viney or Vince on him and I reckon we are half way to winning the game.

Jack Viney would be Dyson Heppells worst nightmare

We need to delist both Bail & M Jones they cost us with their poor skills. We will never improve while we have list cloggers like them, Terlich, Jordie, Riley, etc.....

They are both NQR. Especially Bail, he hasn't got it. Too many times he's missed easy chest marks and goals from set shots. He is very slow to react and knock on loose balls. He's got pace but maybe he choose wrong sporting path maybe athletics was more his game.

I think Bail was a better player back a few years. Never good skills and always looked a role player but I think the head knocks have taken there toll on him and he's one who has gone backwards.

I especially liked Bails running goal from 40 metres to win us the game on Queens Birthday...oh that's right he didnt make the [censored] distance and despite Pettards best efforts we couldnt get a score. Bloke couldn't hit the side of a house. DUD..

Yeah, he definitely wasn't trying to hit up a marking forward who was in red-hot form was he? ...........

No ...he was trying to kick a goal, shanked the kick, landed it short and couldnt handle the pressure/responsibility of kicking the goal he should have kicked. could have run in further. Not up to it. smell the roses.

I think you'll find that BPP made that post with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

Spot on.

I'd rather have M Jones (4th worst player on the list) and Bail (3rd worst player) in the team than McKenzie (2nd worst) and Terlich (worst).

If we lose to Essendon this week it will be the lowest point in my 30+ years of being a member of this club, lower than the 2000 GF, lower than the final in which we gave up an 8 goal lead at 3/4 time, and lower than the 150 point flogging we copped two years ago.

Please don't let me down.

PS. I don't see the point to Michie or Newton coming back in when they have done nothing in the VFL to suggest their recent dreadful AFL form is behind them. Are Bail and Jones any better? Perhaps not, but at least they performed in the VFL so have some form to speak of.

i'm with you Jones & Bail are panels above Michie & Newton

He should have handpassed to his right where Davey was waiting for it, he would have snaffled it

That wasn't Queens Bday it was round 2 - and he was trying to pass to Petterd who dropped a mark rather than having a shot.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
