It was a shame to see a champion of the game end his career in the way it happened. What better person could we choose to nurture, mentor and teach our young midfielders. Let's show him there is life after football. He was a Melbourne supporter as a child so he will have a soft spot for us so let's strike now.

I'm OK with that; but he may want to pay us some money as incentive, or we may have used our picks up, by the time his number is in lime light.

we could put him on a wheel, spin him around in a lucky dip fund raiser, & throw cream puffs at him.

The best coaches were average players. Great players rarely make great coaches.

Lyon and Clarkson are probably considered 2 of the best.

WTF? Scott, Thompson, Roos, Woosha, Longmire, Blight. All premiership coaches, all great players imo.

Judd also wasn't a great leader. Not sure he would be the greatest coach either.

He was undoubtedly a great player but a few things let him down as a person.

The lack of leadership on the boat issue when he first joined the Cheaters was pretty poor for a captain.

And then there were the pressure point, the eye gouging and the chicken wing incidents.

And his very disparaging comments on MFC's play for him to me DQs him from a rôle at our club.

Only if he brings Bec dressed in a devil outfit for our new mascot.

Much rather Jane Bunn O.O

He wanted Eagles compensated as well when he departed. Carlton coughed up Kennedy.

Who would we have sent West? Matthew Bate?

Pass and serves him right for going to Carltank.

Maybe he could teach the chicken wing hold and a few other tricks he has picked up over the years...

Fark NO.

Those wanting to spend too much on someone who has too much. It's why Carlton are now broke.

If you think Judd gives a flying about footy you would be wrong.

I don't want to sound uncharitable, so I'll say this as nicely as possible.

It pleases me that I'll never see him grace a footy field ever again. I'm quietly rejoicing that his career is over and I've been looking forward to this day for a long time.

I also must say that the few years he was at his peak he's the best midfielder I've seen. I love Voss, Williams, Black, etc. and rate Matthews' career as being unrivalled (as far as mids go), but for a few years Judd was without peer. I rate his best better than Ablett Junior's best, but I know many/most won't agree.

Anyone who has enough sour grapes to not want Judd at our club because he went to Carlton doesn't deserve to see Melbourne be successful.

Judd is no leader. Ask any that have played with him.

FFS he was handcuffed to Levi Casboult when they had to ring LC's father because the 18yo was so smashed he couldn't stand up. Great leadership Juddy. Lets see Mitch RObinson, oh can't be bothered...

But not as terrible as the vicious act of eye gouging, for which he has been found guilty twice.

He also stomped on a Melbourne recruit's(Nick Walsh, who didn't make the firsts) stomach, and deliberately twisted his stops.

These things must not be forgotten during all the panegyrics.

Great player, but far from an ornament to the game.

Our own coach played over 350 games.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
