The footy classified show tonight with Mathew Loyd bagged Jack Watts saying he has been " gifted 100 games of AFL Football " No work effort not hard and desperate . Garry Lyon says he has no excuses anymore .

Anyone want to comment on their comments ??

I agree. He should be at his peak now but he still looks to be developing....how many of his 200 game career will he spend developing.

Hopefully not as many as Sylvia

Time is running out for him I feel. Even his most staunch supporters, such as myself, grow weary of his lack of development or inspiring performances every 6-10 games which invoke feelings of hope that he may just turn into some sort of good player.

Sadly the clock now ticks for Jack.

Another Jack Watts thread. Oh dear...

Actually I'm not interested so much about Jack Watts but more about what these two said , we are all aware by now where Jack Watts is at if not then we have Rocks in our heads.

My questions is are they right to say what they said or aren't they? Gifted 100 Games ???? No excuses now ??? The thread is about these two more then Jack and there ability to shoot from the sideline . And are their comments more damaging to Watts improvement, or are they more damaging to Watts bringing him down

I didn't want to turn it into a Jack Watts Thread per say so I apologize if it turns out this way :(

Lloydy finished by saying he's stayed in the team while having bad form due to a lack of depth.

He also acknowledge new players like Brayshaw and Vandenberg who are earning there spots.

I Agree with what he was saying tonight but it's nothing we don't already know

100 games in, and while he has a position on the team, he still doesn't have a position on the field. He's had very limited success as a defender/onballer/utility. Wish he'd just be given the keys as a lead up forward.

Spot on, kid has talent, but he just isn't hungry,

Big difference between wanting to succeed and refusing to fail.

Indeed no, t_u, but seeing as it's happened...

"Gifted 100 games of AFL football": Is there anyone on here who could compile a list of all the current players in the AFL with 100-ish games, so we can make our own assessments where JW might be in the present-receiving queue?

Here is a list of players I compiled that are due to, or have already reached their 100 game milestone this season. Watts is amongst some interesting company (also excuse the typos, it'a late and I typed the list in the note section of my phone):

Sam Jacobs

Taylor walker

Pearce Hanley

Matthew Leunberger

Jack Watts

Andrejs Everitt

Nathan Brown

Ben Reid

Dyson Heppell

Jake Melksham

Trent Mckenzie

Dylan Addison

Rhys Palmer

Tom Scully

Hamish Harlett

Jackson Trengove

Mitch Brown

Jack Darling

Andrew Gaff

Luke Shuey

He's certainly not in the top half of that list. I think looking at that he should be ashamed of himself.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was about show bags based on a Jack Watts theme ...

Andrejs Everitt is a pretty good comparison, he's flirted with good form but remained an all-round average footballer. Only he's already gone through the Dogs and the Swans.

Leuenberger and Palmer have been highly touted but failed to deliver for years. Mckenzie hasn't really developed like the rest. M.Brown and Addison haven't reached any heights. The rest on the list are a decent bunch of players.

Thanks for reminding me that channel 9 have two horrendous footy programs.

But this is a very stupid thread. We all know the truth. No need to start a new thread but..

I suggested trading Watts years ago n got shut down for it. If we had it could've been a master stroke.

That said we MUST trade him this year as its his 7th year and will be our last chance to trade him out before he becomes a free agent.

Not sure if serious or keyboard warrior...

Anyway, all these threads aimed at JW are simply becoming pathetic.

Too many posters with sad, lonely little lives who get a kick out of constantly berating a player. Clap clap.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
