Having watched our mighty team prevail last night and the Bombers vs. the Pies this afternoon, we could well have a very good year. Both "finals contenders'" and they were both rubbish! Bring it on!

Lets wait till we have played one of them.

Heppell is a star isn't he. Makes you wonder how he lasted so long in his draft year...until you remember the nefarious shenanigans the Peptides put together to ensure he fell...

What is his contract status? ;-)

And, remind me, was he recruited before or after they started using "the good stuff"?

Didn't he get shafted good and proper.

I think we are seeing some of the fallout with GC's poor start to the season. I thought it was very poor form to sack him. Edited by america de cali

Huge crowd at Star Track stadium. It must be disappointing to get drafted to these teams when you look at the Blockbuster games. I suppose they're laughing all the way to the bank.

I only saw bits and pieces of the game but it didn't look any good. Probably due to the heavy rain, but I'd rather believe that Collingwood and Essendon are just average sides.

There was minimal rain in the first half and they were no better. Both sides were beatable on today's display!

Anyone else relieved St Kilda took McCartin? Early days I know but the guy needs a full year in the VFL.

At this stage the number 3 pick was the best of the draft.

Hilarious to see BF forums raving about Cripps today. Because it's so impressive to dominate against a basket case like St Kilda.

Meanwhile, Hogan embarrasses last year's AA defender in Alex Rance, AND kicks two goals in wet conditions. Not even a contest for rising star.

IMO, GWS and Adelaide will both make finals this year (and pretty comfortably too). I think that puts our loss in Round 2 into perspective. Horrific 2nd half, but against better opposition that a lot of people were giving them credit for.

    Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded.     Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was.
