Never really understood comments like this. None of the women I know that play high standard netball are even remotely soft.

Its just netball is suppose to be a non-contact sport. True, I could have used another sport as a reference such as swimming, vollyball, cricket etc.

How will the MFC ever win another flag if those players who play the game hard are not encouaged to do so by the supporters. True they can go too far by king hotting another player hehide the play or taking banned substances.

If the tagging was too much for the boy he could have gotten off the field and let another player take his place.

Seems the MRP has missed Vince elbow to Sloans face.

Got away with one

Don't think the hit was actually that high. The replays indicated it was more to the upper body, and not the head...

Dean kent?

I was sure there was a reply at one stage that showed a Vince elbow to Sloans head. It was an attempt bump/sheppard in down low in a pack.

Maybe not???

Nice for once to hear that the MRP didn't see every little incident through our opponents' eyes.

Was worried that TMac may have been cited for forcible contact with his body to Tex's elbow behind the play.

Watching 360 now - Roos played a fairly straight bat to Walsh's comments but seemed a bit bemused by them. I have a sneaky feeling that Buckley is not a Walsh fan either. Said something about Scott Burns working with him in past and knowing what he's like - smirk on face and all.

Sloane was on mmm rush hour this arvo and said in the past vince has actually played like that before and he played well and good on him for playing the way he did.

But my worry now is this week the umpires will be watching vince a lot more closely and just pay free kicks against him.

Looks like Phil Walsh still gave Bernie a vote in the AFLCA voting.

Heritier and Bernie both got 2, no one received 1.

Edit: Logic flawed, I am probably wrong.

Doesn't mean he got one from each. Couple ways that could happen.

For example, If Roosy gave Bernie 2, and Roosy and Walsh gave the same player 1, there wouldn't be anyone on 1 vote, but potentially 3 players on 2.

Depends on what the other votes look like.

Hes a gun and he might be the only MFC player in our history to have 40 possessions and 3 goals in the same game (vs North last year)

Anyone know if any other Demon has done it besides Bernie?

Closest I can think of is C Sylvia v Hawthorn with 37 touches and 4 goals.

Peel got a bargain.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
