I went. Good turnout. Kids love Luna park. Roosy got up, spoke about how each player has improved over the offseason from Crossy to the kids. Was happy with 2.5 quarters yesterday, will have to look at what happened after that. Players were introduced. There was no singing of the song as the team has stated it will only sing the song after a win. Found that interesting.

If I have one knock on family day it would be the player presentation. It's very lacklustre. It is a result of the layout of Luna park. They should announce it over a pa

I was there too with my son. Agree about the player presentation. Impressed with the Jacks in terms of how they speak to the kids (especially Grimes and Watts). The young players were great too. I thought Roos and Hogan were not the friendliest but it could be because of the sheer number of people. Looking forward to the year ahead

Spoke to Hogan a couple of years ago and found him quiet and shy. Might still be that way.

Just got back. To be honest if you've got no kids and aren't a signature hunter there isn't much going on but I have kids and they love it. My 9 year old wasn't impressed with col garland she thought he was a grumpy old man. Best on ground has to go to toumpass. If anyone hasn't spoken to him before they should. He is a great bloke and is very engaging with kids. He and JKH had a booth at the demon army tent and we're getting photos done with kids wearing wigs and not taking themselves too seriously. My daughter loves the toump so she got his number on her back. I took her friend from school with us and converted her to a Melbourne supporter so today was a success.

Not when he was taking the [censored] out of me he wasn't

Anyway spoke to coaches and players, all not unduly concerned about yesterday, seems to be last quarter that will be reviewed, Roos said same thing in his chat to Robbo

This is also a bit of supporter feedback as well, some supporters felt it was being devalued being trotted out on every occasion

PJ was there in jeans, MFC rain jacket and cap, I said he was incognito, was told I was 3rd person and probably not last to say that

Highlight of the player presentation was Robbo forgetting to introduce Chris Salem (it was announced quite a few times during the morning by Roobo the player presentation would be at 11), not sure what else they can do

why does this not surprise me - to me it feels like the bloke has not enjoyed being part of our club for quite a while now, and it is showing in his footy

Really good effort today by the mfc.

Seemed to all run smoothly. My kids loved it. Each year they look forward to it, even more than the games.

My eight year old made me go on the roller coaster three times. The Luna park staff had great pleasure in announcing it was more than 100 years old. Didn't inspire much confidence and the old girl is as rough as they come.

Watts is such a champ with the kids. They sure do love him and Jack Viney. Nate jones took his new little one on the stage as did crossy. Nice touch.

One of the other kids we went with got shat on by a seagull. I said that was a one in a million chance l, then noticed the five hundred seagulls above the ride. Revised the odds and I reckon it was probably a one in five chance.

I went with my daughter and had a great time. Really enjoyed chatting with Jack Watts - he is so lovely. Also met Sam Frost - he is a lovely humble guy as well. Had

lots of photos with many of the guys and they were all so obliging.

The best thing for me was that my daughter, who for the past 10 or so years claimed to be a Collingwood supporter has finally seen the light and took out a Melbourne membership today. She has finally seen the light and I have welcomed her back to the fold!

You are claiming this - while arguing with DD36 about Roos' words in another thread...

Is it his body language onfield, C&B?

Are there any other tell-tale signs of discontent?

Fantastic Jane!! Now all you have to do is divorce your filth supporting husband. Then ... well who knows .. you might be on the lookout for an eligible, charming, handsome, cross dressing fashionable male. ( Possibly from Romsey)

Does this mean when I went to him to sign my team photo today and he motioned to throw it in the bin....he is over MFC, or just having a bit of fun

Garlo is fine I had a chat to him at training a couple of weeks ago, he has had such a miserable run with injury he wants to have a good season, being out of contas ract also means we can ditch him if he doesn't, really loves the club

Well done Jane.

Parent brainwashing is alive and well!!! Trust me I know I have three who are on the dees, not that they have much choice.

This is a great day for young supporters - my four year old had a ball. Luna Park is a great venue at present, but it would be horrible with a few more people in the place. I'm not sure it could handle a membership of 50K.

Jones & Grimes were fantastic with my boy (as always), and Watts is another who has been brilliant in the past. I thought Petracca was fantastic as well, as a young bloke. Interesting that Garland was mentioned - I am a fan, but from a distance he didn't look like he wanted to be there today.

Are you suggesting something for the blokes mate?

MFC [censored] UP!

Come on down to the Bentleigh Club so you can get as [censored] as a fart!

SHOTS! PINTS! JAGERBOMBS!

Watch as the players race to see who can get drunk the quickest and do a nude run around the pool table.

Come on down so you can see Saty get smashed and drunkenly profess his love for Nev Jetta in front of his missus!

There will be JELLY WRESTLING as well - come on down to see if Mark "Jelly Man" Jamar can defend his title!

There will be drinking games a plenty, and the players will be happy to either sign or vomit on your new Demons gear!

5:30pm till late

Don't miss it, it's sure to be a sensational night.

No sausages or membership tents will be present on the night.

Was there today and had a great time. My two daughters (17 & 19) absolutely loved getting pics and talking with the players. 19yo has a big crush on JKH and got a few pics. Very well done to MFC and also to the greater majority of the players. One or two seamed disinterested but most were thrilled to be able to meet and talk with the kids (and older teenagers!). O'Mac was also brilliant and willing to engage. Another fantastic day. As I said - very well done to the MFC and player for being totally involved.

Elephant talk:

Simply ...what for anyone else.

it, for mine, goes back to missed opportunity

if the club thinks luna park day cuts it for all. ..well sadly mistaken I'd say.

Sounds a bit like last year's Interstate Members function at the Duke, except it started at about 11am (and I assume Saty wasn't there)...

I was having a great time 'till I got to the 'G to see us take on the Cats.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
