His manager was on SEN this morning, gave me a good laugh.

Started out by saying it's nothing to do with money...wants to see the club heading in the right direction...then finished by saying "obviously finances are a big part of it as well..."

It sounds like Howe's manager is back-pedalling rapidly!

Probably found that other clubs don't think he is worth a high price tag.

I heard the interview with Niall on SEN and he went round in circles a bit on 'money not being important, Jeremy wants to enjoy his football' etc (not verbatim).

After the interview Tim Watson made a good point along the lines that Jeremy would really like to settle into a position for a while and maybe would like a club to take him as a forward.

Jeremy has been very adaptable but I think it is reasonable that he has some confidence in his role at MFC if he stays...just as he would from another club if he moved.

Having heard the interview and noted the ramblings from Niall during this year, Jeremy should consider getting a new manager!

It's easy for another club to use this as a selling point. Howe has been given every opportunity to cement a position up forward, but has failed to do so due to his lack of consistency. The same applies to Jack Watts.

In an ideal world, you don't need adaptable players. Basically it means that they can't master a position. If Howe and Watts have currency, I'm happy to trade.

hey...let's not dissuade any other club from thinking ol' Howey is the best thing since sliced bread. Ooh yeah....great fwd....very adaptable ...oooh liking all this ^_^

Guy's a gem...we ( mfc) just don't understand the talent properly !!!

We know the product but happy for another team to buy the advertisement !! :roos:

2 wins, 4 wins, 7 wins... I'm not sure what it takes for poor Jeremy to notice trends, but that looks like an upwards curve to me.

Maybe he was enlisted in the Chip Frawley School of Mathematics as well?

He's stalling for time while one of his suitors finishes their finals campaign.

Well...I for one hope he stays

I love the marks he takes....It's one of the reasons I watch.

I love the goals he kicks from the boundary line.

I realise that he is not the greatest player in the world but neither is half our list.

He is a swing player that can go forward or back and have an impact.

He is 25 years of age and played 100 games and played every game this year.(Second year running)

The only reason posters have their noses out of joint is because of the stalling of the contract talks, to which he is entitled to get the best deal he can, as would all of us

I have not got this years stats at hand but last year he was

2nd rebound 50's

1st in contested marks

2nd in marks (general)

1st in short kicks

5th in kicks (general)

6th in the B&F and played every game.

Let's face it....we are not going to get a Dangerfield, but I don't want a pimple faced 18 year old to replace him. I don't care if that is pick 1 or 98.

I want JW to stay as well.

Something is building - these two boys are important for the new future.

Unlike some I believe Howe would rather stay, but I suspect the club isn't desperate and will only accommodate him on their terms.

I don't think they see him as a "must sign".

I hope they have a trade target that addresses our needs. If GC are involved, my guess would be Trent McKenzie.

Please...Did you see McKenzie's year this year???

I know who I'd rather playing for us next year.

pretty well sums it up...Is fine to keep ( perhaps) ....but 'let's see what we might get for him...."

His role changed with the acquisition of Malcelski and Saad, plus KK plays a similar role. I'd prefer McKenzie with ball in hand running off half back ahead of anyone in our team, other than Salem. I also believe he's gettable, unlike Prestia and O'Meara.

Brett Anderson just said he and Watts are gone. Sorry if this has already been posted.

Just a sports writers opinion.....(He just happens to barrack for the Dees)

Has no more weight than posters on here.

If this is true, then we've landed the big fish. Our FD isn't foolish enough to throw Jack away for a bag of peanuts and they will also try to leverage Howe for something decent too, particularly out of GCS.

Great news if true, something big must be brewing behind the scenes.

Bret Anderson's mail is usually pretty good if I recall correctly.

Melbourne duo Jeremy Howe and Jack Watts will not be at the club next year for very different reasons, says SEN draft expert Brett Anderson.

Howe’s manager claimed on Morning Glory early on Tuesday that his client was not purely interested on working the best deal.

Yet it seems the word around town is that a move north for a far more lucrative deal is the most likely outcome for the highflying defender.

“I’d be surprised if either player was at the footy club next year,” said Anderson on SEN radio.

“From what I’ve heard I would expect that Jeremy Howe would field an offer from somewhere else, with Gold Coast being the one most linked to him.

“In terms of Jack Watts there is probably no clear destination as it stands.”

Am I the only one that wants us to just move him on? Low ball him. He has far greater value to us on the trade table than on the field. His trade could help transform our midfield.

You've got my vote Adam (channelling old dee)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
