Mitch at the Cats

Still Waiting

Having dealt with depressed patients for many years, this is a typical blame deflection tactic; to blame others for ill will that you have caused, relying on the ignorance of people to prevent a backlash and keep yourself painted in a positive light.

Whats your hourly rate Lama? I believe i do this all the time!

Poor old Mitch, can't catch a break. Whatever he does and wherever he goes problems arise. Oh well shiit happens. I'm glad its happening at Geelong now.

MC did suffer from calf injuries during that last pre season with us and they can be nasty, as you get older.

I believe they are referred to in footy speak as the old man's injury. Very hard to shake off when a player gets older as you say red.

I rate Mitch very highly. When he was fit he was by far our best player. I believe if he does get physically and mentally fit he will win the Coleman Medal. Consider how good he would be with Geelong midfield supply and Hawkins beside him which would not allow Mitch to be double teamed. Its a scary thought.

What are the chances of Mitch being physically and mentally fit? From his historical record the chances are low............... but I have a bad feeling.

Absolutely agree with this.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he start having calf trouble on his attempted return at Melbourne? I know it was a soft tissue issue, I remember hamstring trouble as well, but this has a familiarity to it. Only this time I am very happy with the news. EAD you faker and fraudulent poser.

I went and watched a training at Gosch's really early on when he was returning from a string I believe.

He was beaming being out on the track with the boys and doing some run throughs at good pace while kicking a few pills around. You could see he was just loving being out with the lads and you could see the team mates all being right behind him chirping it up. It was nearly right in front of me when his calf went pop and he went down.

He hit the ground a few times and looked absolutely devastated to the fact I thought he might have been crying, not in pain but just devastation and frustration. As lame as it is I nearly teared up as well as he looked an emotional reck and was clearly shattered.

I don't think Mitch is necessarily a bad person for leaving us as we will never know what really happened.

- Maybe he is just an emotional bipolar suffering crazy man who Roos and co thought it would be safer to get rid of instead of his team mates and us waiting for the return of our messiah.

- Maybe also, he is a dog, used the club to get fit again and ditched us for another chance at glory.

- Maybe he's just a 12 year old in the body of a potential superstar who put to much pressure on himself to single handedly lift a club and his body forbid this causing his dark days.

I actually hope he has a good year and his body holds up as he is a wonderful player and the game needs more like him when he is at his best however I hope the cats massively bottom out and we leap frog them on the ladder.

Would be glorious.

I was just devastated when i heard Mitch had a soft tissue injury again

He will be feeling so low today...Such a hard life.

More wedding shoots to come....

I'm getting married later this year. Back in the days when I was still milling it about in my head, for about a minute I thought it would be kinda cool to have Mitch as a wedding photographer.

I want to go back in time and slap myself in the face at the precise moment that thought entered my head.

Although I must admit I was a little shattered with Mitch's actions as I thought his retirement and return was premeditated and lowered his trade value to Melbourne and he wasn't described as our highest paid player but a guy returning from retirement.... I moved on!!!

He doesn't owe the club anything regardless of what people on here think. Melbourne would flick him if it didn't suit us so why what does he owe the club.

Yes he was injured and we were paying him but that's a known issue with football contracts and can happen to anyone

Look what we were happy to do to trengove despite his loyalty!!!!

Players owe clubs nothing as it's all business

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
