And posted a 300 word review!

'They were training the house down' is only six words, though ...

Nope pretty sure it's a continual 8 week block after the season followed by a 2 week block over Christmas. It's in the AFL CBA which you can google if you want to confirm.

The things for younger guys, especially if they are living or back in Melbourne at this time of year (down for the races if nothing else) then you'd want to be fit for the start of preseason I could imagine. And it's much easier training with friends anyway so I'm sure a lot of them would be out running with each other anyway.

Why completely ban them access to clubs (as happens in other sports)? I know I'd actually prefer to get some earlier direct fitness oversight from the staff as well as being in the right environment for it.

I am off to the union tomorrow bl**dy hell 10 weeks annual leave! I am getting screwed with just 4 weeks. And by the way my organisation/team actually delivers on its promises and levels of service for a fraction of the cost. Unlike MFC but different industries I know.

Interesting that the article on the afl website states 'The discussions centred around whether the training sessions were voluntary or forced, with some Demons players registering their confusion with the AFLPA .

Looks like the list still needs 'refining'....

Wait a minute...so is:

'going to be an elite player'

'He only needs a good preseason' ??:blink:

It's voluntary in so far as we are tired of all the pathetic excuses.

So we will remove all the excuses.

The guy/s seeking clarification can [censored] off too.

Jack Watts said this to me today at training...

"When my time on Earth is gone, and my activities here are past, I want them to bury me upside down, and my critics can kiss my ass."

Half the squad training two weeks before it's compulsory - impressive !

LOL.

This line killed me:

Under AFLPA guidelines, players have a rigid leave period to ensure they get appropriate rest after the season finishes.
Appropriate rest periods? Our boys have all been [censored] resting since round 11!

Perhaps you meant since 2011?

I was at Edwins cafe outside aami this morning. Jetta, Hogan, Viney and one other i didn't recognise were having a coffee. On face value i really thought hogan would have been a bit of an introvert, but to my surprise he seemed to be the loudest person in the entire place (Censored he's a big boy!)

I had parked across the road from the Tan and was getting out of my car at the same time as Frawley. (Gave him the cold shoulder, I'm sure he was offended!)

Looking like he's dropped a bit of size but looks extremely fit à la Brian Lake

WTF was that mercenary doing near our training ?

I ran into Sylvia last week. Unsure if this point has already been shared previously however he stated he thought he was fit, compared to many on our list. He said when he started at the Dockers he couldn't believe how fit all the players were, he was way behind.

I hope being on the track early is a sign the players are aware of how far behind the top teams they are in regards to fitness.

Hopefully with a fitter team comes some more wins.

So, he takes it easy last year, then gets the big coin and decides to put in some effort and get fit!! Shame he didn't care enough to do it with us...

There's a nasty rumour going around that AFL players have been spotted hanging out together in the last month. Even some whispers that they've been jogging in groups and working out together at.. gyms...

Do something, AFLPA!

Due to global warming and the indications of a scorching hot summer we need to burn the track up early before total fire ban days are enforced.

Except this is at odds with what Bernie and Cross said when they came in, and Cross is widely regardless as a fitness fanatic. Maybe its a case of the fittest at each club being just about on par, but the worst at Freo being miles ahead of us - other than Sylvia of course.

Well these are the same tossers who cried like babies that the players need free agency and in the process killed the competition by bringing it in, and also the same tossers who think they can dictate to ASADA when in reality they dont have a leg to stand on

It's about a 90% wankfest and 10% trying to looking relevent.

It's a boys club. Do i really need to say any more !

It beggars belief the priorities of the AFLPA.

They rail against training a week early and accept uncontrolled substance experimentation.

If that was my union i'd be looking for a new union.

This is he players union nothing more nothing less.

IMO it is not even a well run union.

Expect what you are seeing and you will not be disappointed.

He finally got delisted hey?

As usual, he will be relatively quiet about this time (though he did miss out on some prime pontificating opportunities over the last little bit) but when round 1 rolls around again, we will all know without a shadow of a doubt how morally lacking we truly are.

As long as you haven't managed to vanish up one of your own orifices before Round 1, will remember to give you name check, I still read Demonland, but unless one of the topics really interests me, I don't post, I go past AAMI sometimes exercising, Australian Rugby League squad was training this morning, watched by Kelly O'Donnell and Daniel McPherson, joked they were scouting Cameron Smith for a code change.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
