I was at Edwins cafe outside aami this morning. Jetta, Hogan, Viney and one other i didn't recognise were having a coffee. On face value i really thought hogan would have been a bit of an introvert, but to my surprise he seemed to be the loudest person in the entire place (Censored he's a big boy!)

I had parked across the road from the Tan and was getting out of my car at the same time as Frawley. (Gave him the cold shoulder, I'm sure he was offended!)

Looking like he's dropped a bit of size but looks extremely fit à la Brian Lake

He finally got delisted hey?

As usual, he will be relatively quiet about this time (though he did miss out on some prime pontificating opportunities over the last little bit) but when round 1 rolls around again, we will all know without a shadow of a doubt how morally lacking we truly are.

Saw them on the park this morning. Checked with a friend at the club who told me it was voluntary on the players part with first session starting next week for the younger players. Older blokes and rehab will start later. Forget AFLPA as this was voluntary and I applaud the players keen enough to start ball work so soon.

lol @ the AFLPA

Bunch of amateurs down there

Our guys have been off since round 22, that is about 7 weeks leave. They will get another 2 over Christmas, how much do they need? I thought 6 weeks total was the Aflpa deal.

Nope pretty sure it's a continual 8 week block after the season followed by a 2 week block over Christmas. It's in the AFL CBA which you can google if you want to confirm.

The things for younger guys, especially if they are living or back in Melbourne at this time of year (down for the races if nothing else) then you'd want to be fit for the start of preseason I could imagine. And it's much easier training with friends anyway so I'm sure a lot of them would be out running with each other anyway.

Why completely ban them access to clubs (as happens in other sports)? I know I'd actually prefer to get some earlier direct fitness oversight from the staff as well as being in the right environment for it.

Just drove down Punt rd and saw the boys on the track already!

Good to see the boys out and about already!

I saw them from the bike track, but thought it was too early, and it couldn't possibly be them. Should have stopped and looked!

Good News.

Why wait around for preseason to start and have the young blokes(most of the club) down on afl standard for the runs.

Thank god they are doing it of their own free will.

Anyhow the aflpa is one of those unions that does not give a flying [censored] about the rookies and battlers.

It is set up so the top players can screw the comp.

LOL.

This line killed me:

"Under AFLPA guidelines, players have a rigid leave period to ensure they get appropriate rest after the season finishes."

Appropriate rest periods? Our boys have all been [censored] resting since round 11!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
