Jack Trengove re-injures his navicular (2014) - trade deal off

To help people make a balanced view of all this, I can reveal that the Demons are looking to trade into the Top 15 in order to offer two first round picks, in this case 3, 12, for Dayne Beams.

Paul Connors has conceded that Brisbane is not an unlikely option for Dayne now, and you will notice that Collingwood are now publicly reporting they are open to other offers for Dayne.

Melbourne is asking for pick 48 in return from Coll, and this is believed to be enough to get Sam Frost into the club. It's believed Collingwood will only have 4 picks at the draft this year, and with 3, Moore, 12 and 30, then 48 may not be required anyhow. However there is work to be done to convince Dayne to accept terms with another Vic club, but I'm confident in what I'm hearing that remaining @ Collingwood is now his last resort.

Pick 3, 12 for Beams and 48

Or in effect

Frawley, Trengove and pick 23 for Beams and Frost

How does that look everyone? Win wins around I think...

My credibility in all this? I can't give away my place of employment but im in regular contact with Connors Sports Management, Dayne's management group, and have been particular busy today as his future today included Melbourne entering the picture...

Plenty to play out but the above will become public knowledge soon enough I'm sure, happy to give my fellow Demonlanders the marginal heads up first

Thanks JJH, just to let you know this will be front page HS tomorrow.

After reading the article on the club website, I've a feeling this will eventuate.

Another great point, club getting us ready for it. Normally anything speculative is on the AFL page or social media.

heart would like it not to happen, nobody can deny his commitment. Head says it may be a good deal, always injured, never really set the place alight, my only thinking is that the club have some idea of using these pics for something big!

In Roos we trust, still, wold be sad to see him go, seems to be a decent fella, but no sentiment in the footy business.

The club's response would suggest this is happening. Didn't need to say anything at all, or could have flat out said no (see Leppa's tweet re Pendles yesterday). Will be sad to see him go, but it's a ruthless industry.

Spot On..

Not sure if it's the club getting us ready for it, or just trying to control the speculation. Either way I like the way the club has operated throughout this whole thing - we've heard nothing at all that we didn't need to hear, and when we did need to hear things it's been delivered in a sensible fashion. I'm impressed.

Edit: JJH has probably blown it by giving Purple and co some very juicy fodder though. :P

I don't particularly mind if the deal turns out to be for Dangerfield, Beams or Sheil, l would just rather be trading Grimes before l traded Trenners, especially when the Club we are talking about is Richmond and Jack (Grimes) can join his brother Dylan! Now that would cause happiness all round!

Fair call, not quite the Justin Leppitsch tweet. Done professionally.

Exactly, clubs refrain from posting articles about rumours and innuendo, and I couldn't see them writing a piece on discussions and an offer nobody knew about until tonight, just because it has popped up in the media.

The line about 'The Demons are aware he is a popular and loyal figure' really adds to the feeling that it is likely to happen, for me.

WHAT THE [censored]!?

Not only will I be [censored] off if this happens but what happened to the club saying they weren't bringing in much youth?

I can only hope that a bigger trade is looming if this does happen. I really don't want trenners to go.

"Is reluctant, but would not block the trade".

Jack's a good kid and will understand the nature of the game and how the system works. He'll hate the idea to start with due to his loyal nature, but eventually he'll get over it.

Even if it is part of a bigger deal that has us celebrating, I'd still be sorry to see him go. Bittersweet.

Crows said to be offering a swap for Trenners and pick 23 for their pick 10. Trenners has come currency on the table.

How about 2, 23 & Trengove for Dangerfield & 10

Then give 3 & 10 to the Pies for Beams & 48

48 to GWS for Frost

or he's selling his catch of red herring.

Surely there is far far more to this than any of us here know anything about: MUST be part of something huge.

Or some sort of Roos ruse.

Watch this space.

MUST be part of something or might not be anything?

We need atleast 3 live picks in the draft.

Looking at that we have absolutely no picks whatsoever.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
