The Bullies fans seem to think 4 and 7 is a done deal for Griiffen - if they miss out on Boyd.

I reckon they are off their heads, Griffen is 29 FFS.

Hahaha I have my boss (Bulldogs supporter) trying to convince me his a within the top 5 of players throughtout the AFL.

No doubt he's good but he's certainly not top 5, will be 29 next year so he's within the twilight of his career and probably only has two more good years left in him. Furthermore he's had back issues over the last season.

Mid teens pick max. and that's it.

AFL player ratings has him at number 5. http://www.afl.com.au/afl-player-ratings

I have no idea how they measure that or even if it's a good measure, but it is interesting.

Nathan Brown is clearly an idiot, pretty evident from his appearances on the today show.

I don't understand how someone who's not a Pies supporter could think that's a good deal.

I turned it back on, and nearly choked on my breakfast. "If i were Richmond, I would rather get Sam Blease than Jack Trengove".

Who pays these people?!

Lets hope they are Richmond, Blease and 23 for pick 12 and we keep Trenners where do I sign

Amazing that a number one pick from only a year ago can even say he wants to be traded.

Things are changing very quickly.

I really think these players should pull their heads in a bit. They're starting to think they run the game and can do whatever they want whenever they want.

A day on which so much was expected and very little delivered.

Tom Boyd

GWS forward and former number one draft pick Boyd has officially requested to be traded from the club to the Western Bulldogs but the Giants say they will not trade him under any circumstances.

Allen Christensen

Christensen is officially a Brisbane player after the Cats traded him to the Lions in exchange for pick 21.

Nick Malceski

New Gold Coast recruit Malceski is confident of playing in another premiership at the Suns. Malceski arrived at the club this year as an unrestricted free agent.

Jack Trengove

Richmond has maintained its interest in former Melbourne captain Trengove. The Tigers are looking to trade their first round selection (currently pick 12) for Trengove and pick 23.

Hasn't someone said somewhere that JT is going nowwhere?

If nothing happens today this could go from the most anticipated to one of the dullest trade periods ever.

It's hardly been dull 'Gonzo', just not a lot of action from us to date.

Beams, Christiansen, Griffen, Rider, Boyd...just about a bombshell every day.

Trade Radio Update (pre Trengove news)

Brisbane Lions

After snaring Geelong midfielder Allen Christensen yesterday, Brisbane could today add another classy player to its midfield, with Dayne Beams set to make the move to the Lions.

Jack Crisp

Despite the "deadline" passing last Friday for the Lions and Pies to do a deal on Beams, the addition of 21-year-old Brisbane player Crisp to the deal looks like getting it over the line. The Lions will offer Collingwood pick 5, 25 and Crisp to move Beams away from the Pies.

Jaksch and Whiley

Meanwhile, Carlton looks set to secure young GWS forward Kristian Jaksch and GWS midfielder Mark Whiley, with the Blues exchanging pick 7 for the duo. As part of the deal the Blues will also receive pick 19 from the Giants.

Tom Boyd

Despite significant fanfare about Boyd moving from the Giants to the Bulldogs yesterday, the Giants remain adamant that no deal will be done. The Bulldogs want to directly trade Ryan Griffen for Boyd, but GWS says that deal will not be happening.

Adam Cooney

Cooney appears destined to move to a new club before Thursday's 2pm deadline, with the Bulldogs reportedly prepared to pay some of his salary at a new club. The Herald Sun says he has met with both the Bombers and Kangaroos and passed medical tests with flying colours.

Yeah I know, was talking more about the "actual" trades rather than the "potential" trades. Griffen and Boyd haven't gone anywhere yet, Ryder & Beams still haven't been done.

Hopefully we get something from Melbourne today because I'll be disappointed if we can't get in at least one midfielder with some experience.

That's a huge win for Carlton, IMO.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
