Who are the highly rated juniors that haven't lived up to their promise for whatever reason (not on the MFC list) that can be targetted.

A couple of recent examples would be Dom Tyson and Jared Polec.

Gary Rohan would have been another, his stocks will have risen significantly tonight.

Billie Smedts would fall into that category I reckon. As would the obvious O'Rourke

I'll be very interested to see if Smedts comes up in trade talks. He has had a very quiet year, although he still may be ahead of many of their other younger players who haven't come on yet.

Jesse Lonergan at the Suns is a high draft pick who is in and out of the side.

Strong inside mid.

I threw that up in the Blease thread. Geelong have shown a bit of interest and I'd much prefer Smedts to Hunt. We'd have to give more than Blease to get him, but I think worth it.

I've thrown his name up before but a few people on here think he is a bit of a brainless DH and we're better off leaving him alone.

Certainly has a lot of natural talent but hasn't been able to lock down a place in the Geelong side.

I don't know about his personality, but I loved his highlight package from the u18s and Roos has repeatedly said he wants a quality rebounding HB. We could always try to get Rohan out of Sydney, but I somehow doubt he's on the table.

Jackson Ramsay from Collingwood is another. Although he is progressing well in their VFL squad. Maybe that can be the Mitch deal, I'd be happier with that then Lumumba believe it or not.

Mitchell will still struggle to break into that Swans midfield....must be getting frustrated as hell.

Matthew Buntine and Jesse Lonergan.

Buntine was supposedly part of a trade package with GWS last year, but we ended up with some other GWS spud instead. :P

Didn't play a game this year and has a total of 9 to his name Played 7 games this year for a total of 16. Don't know anything at all about him so I can't comment on what he'd add, but I can't imagine he'd cost much now.

Not quite... Buntine played 7 games this year

Thanks, didn't think that seemed right, but I just assumed the data I looked at was correct. Doesn't change my point much anyway.

Don't think they will let him go but he seemed to be one of their really composed kids, had a good footy brain and positioned himself well.

Buntine took Dawes to the cleaners.

I turned the TV off at 3/4 time in that game and have tried to block it from my memory since.

I watched Buntine a bit this year afte we were linked to him last year and I must say I was impressed. Very composed as you said, although he looks like he is sort of in that in between height range for a defender.

Tom Mitchell.

Zac Jones.

Dylan Shiel.

Tom Clurrey.

Zak Jones and Shiel? They hardly fit the category.

Jones is playing his first season at a club renowned for making their youngsters work for a couple of years before giving them a game. Shiel plays every week, and plays well.

What do you reckon about Cam Guthrie from Geelong? Get's a game every week, is a quality tagger and would certainly be an improve from Miskick Mckenzie . Thoughts?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
