Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

You called the Dom Tyson trade very early.

You are up there with GNF as someone with pretty reliable source.

What are you hearing so far? let it slip!

I hope it's that we land Tex. I think I'd rather him than Danger.

IMO we actually didn't do too bad in the guts this year (barring shocking disposals off our half back line), but we had no one to kick it to.

There's always a point having a gun forward line

Wouldn't Dangerfield resting in the forward line make our forward line, 'gun like'?

If Melbourne somehow gave up picks 2, 3 (assuming we get it) and Toumpas/Trengove/Watts for Dangerfield and Mitchell that would be the biggest trading win in years and a miracle.

Surely pick 3 would be enough for us to land Shiel or Treloar. Think I'd prefer those 2 over Mitchell.

Everyone keeps talking about how much of a gun Mitchell is. But I struggle to see how a player being kept out of a side by the likes of Lloyd, Cunningham and Rampe is the superstar that everyone makes him out to be.

Hold that thought. Hearing Dangerfield is now very much in play, with likelihood somewhere near 90%.

More info tomorrow.

Thats pretty high but there is always that 10%

I haven't wanted to post in this topic as yet knowing that until now, it's been very much uphill for the Dees to get him over the line. But as a Dees supporter and also sharing a friendship circle with patty and knowing him personally, I can confirm he is very much open to moving from adelaide, tat the media releases he has done were pushed on him by senior crow officials trying to maintain stability. I can also confirm that if he leaves adelaide it will be to Melbourne. That is all I can say for now, I don't want to mention anything else before he decides 100%. But if I was to put a figure on it, I think pat is better than even money to make a change. The deal put to him will make him one of the top 3 paid players in the game, along with a leadership role. Obviously the crows and Dees need to agree on a trade and I have no idea what that might involve, however pat is genuinely open to crossing to the Dees this trade period.

Sounds promising. Remember all that PRoos did say he wanted to add 1 or 2 quality midfielders into the group. There would be no doubt we would be going after him but can we land him? I very much hope so.

I couldn't say, what I do know is he is frustrated with how adelaide have handled the senior players and now he has pretty much been forced to defend himself in the media and the board in which he is frustrated at. What I do know is Bernie Vince and Simon Goodwin have spoken at length to him and Aiden Riley has mentioned how good the relationship between the players and coaches are at melbourne. That's pretty much all I can say. From pats mouth on Friday was "sounds pretty good". My advice to him was to think about what the city has to offer in the way of live music and shopping. Like I said in my last post, I reckon it is better than even money. Maybe 65/35 for him coming to the Dees.

I think I liked the 90% better. Anyone want to raise that?

I'd be happy with any of them. I would have thought that Sydney would be more interested in a top pick than GWS are is all.

Even if Dangerfield becomes available this year AND we land ourselves the box seat, don't be fooled into believing he'll come cheap.

We hold the pocket aces but our list is in such a terminal state that during the trade discussion, it is always advantage Adelaide. Losing Dangerfield will hurt but they have a talented younger list coming through inc. Talia, Smith, the Crouch brothers, Jenkins, Lynch and Kerridge.

Pick 2 + Trengove / Toumpas will not suffice. Both picks will go. That's the long and short of it.

And it comes with the likelihood that in 1-5 years time, Petracca and / or Brayshaw are tearing it up elsewhere. Let the media hogs have their feed in the trough.

Because Dangerfield brings not just a pure talent like those draftees but leadership which will mould our players on the field - the way Roos is doing in the box. That has been the plan set out by Roos from day one - a culture change.

We will have to pay overs to land Dangerfield. But we must - get - him. This is the only way up and it will incite real change among the club.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
