Patrick Dangerfield

I would not give picks 2 & 3 for him (if we get 3 for Frawley), we would need their first round pick back.

You must be crazy

I don't need to list all the top 5 picks we have completely wasted in the last decade do I? Not one of them has gotten close to Dangerfield.

For a proven star of the comp, you bet it is worth it

Even if Dangerfield becomes available this year AND we land ourselves the box seat, don't be fooled into believing he'll come cheap.

We hold the pocket aces but our list is in such a terminal state that during the trade discussion, it is always advantage Adelaide. Losing Dangerfield will hurt but they have a talented younger list coming through inc. Talia, Smith, the Crouch brothers, Jenkins, Lynch and Kerridge.

Pick 2 + Trengove / Toumpas will not suffice. Both picks will go. That's the long and short of it.

And it comes with the likelihood that in 1-5 years time, Petracca and / or Brayshaw are tearing it up elsewhere. Let the media hogs have their feed in the trough.

Because Dangerfield brings not just a pure talent like those draftees but leadership which will mould our players on the field - the way Roos is doing in the box. That has been the plan set out by Roos from day one - a culture change.

We will have to pay overs to land Dangerfield. But we must - get - him. This is the only way up and it will incite real change among the club.

We'll then they can lose him for the lousy compo the AFL will give them next year then if they're going to be greedy idiots.

I love Patty, but 2 & 3 is overs considering how those picks can be played in a market looking for a strong forward.

Opinions vary, mine says pDanger for 2 & 3 is overs, if we got their first round pick back then it's a great deal.

Of course you would think it's a great deal. For us.

You have to please the other guy, too.

Or, we can just wait with our money, our pipe dreams and a (still) disgracefully poor list in free-agency 2015 where half-a-dozen clubs bump us to the back of the queue. Your call.

and that is what it most likely would be if 2 and 3 on the table

I have a problem with trading everything for the messiah player. With our luck he does a knee and we have got nothing.

We need a number of good players rather than one champion. I would rather go for that.

God, the Purple Headed Warrior would have an absolute field day if that happened. [censored].

Totally agree. During the FS on Thursday night he was asked about his physical condition and admitted that he was having a few on-going problems (didn't elaborate).

Can't help but feel that we are mortgaging our future by giving up the chance to get at least 1 elite young player this year. Happy to have him but we still need to build for the future.

I've not seen or heard anything about Dangerfield that says he will bring leadership to the club.

that is an approach we started this time 7 years ago and we are no better off now then we were then. One of the reasons is because we have had no quality senior players around the place. All we have been doing is sending kids out to get thumped every week and as a result nobody developed properly and our culture has suffered greatly

To hell with Dangerfield, go after Sloane.

Apologise unconditionally to both him and his family for our monumental draft f-up.

Sure Dangerfield looks good and has a few monster games a year, but Sloane is way more consistent and wins just as many games off his boot as Dangerfield does.

You have to be aggressive though without sacrificing everything. It's called strategising- using what you have for maximum gain. You don't just throw out 2 high picks for one good player when they can get you at least a couple of players we need.

Nicely selected half a sentence and then presented out of context!

I can't see that having any effect...

It's not as though he's annoyed at us and secretly wants to play for the MFC but was waiting for an apology.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
