Patrick Dangerfield

Demonsterative

Recommended Posts

Roos has already met with Dangerfield. Even rang his parents and put forward to them why he would like Paddy at the Dees. His old man was blown away by Roosy and would have no problem with him at all joining the dees, In fact he was rapt. End of the day its all up to Patrick with the final decision.

Where were you dazzle? Hiding under the couch in the family room?

That sounds positive if true.

Seriously, how could you know this?

If it's coming from someone inside the club, then perhaps the current regime still haven't been able to plug up the holes.

I can only imagine how peed off we'd all be if someone was offering Nathan Jones big biscuits when he still had a year to run on his contract.

Danger doesn't have a year to run. He is out of contract. He is a FA net year.

I'd be angry, but it's the landscape - if others will do it to us then we need to be proactive and do it to them as well. If this is how it's going then we can't sit back and cry foul over it, we need to be a player just like everyone else.

If Roos rang me about my boy joining his team after I picked myself off the floor I wouldn't give my son a choice!!

"Son u r going to the Dees. Don't argue with your parents son. Its in your best interests.

Now do as u r told".

That would work I reckon!!!!!

I was down in Warrnambool on the weekend watching my cousin play off in the Prelim for NW eagles. He is mates with a lot of Dangers high school mates. Apparently he was there but didn't see him. He will eventually return to Victoria but Melbourne aren't the only club wanting him. My personal opinion is that it wont be with us. The fact that he has sat down with Roosy is a good start that's for sure.

Big money thrown his way.

Don't think we are going to get Danger, but if I was in charge I would go with something like this:

Pick 2 and 3 plus Toump for Danger, pick 10 and 3rd rounder

We could then trade pick 10 plus Watts to Sydney for Mitchell and their 1st or 2nd rounder.

Ahh I can only dream !!

So you hypothetically give up pick 2,3,3 for Danger?

Way overs even with pick 10 back.

I preferred the story that you were under the family couch at the time Dazzle. Would have loved to see his father's reaction when he heard an unaccounted for "YESSSSS!!!" coming from under the furniture upon hearing Roos speak.

Comparing that trade to the Judd trade & we'd be paying massive overs. For those who need a reminder, the entire package was Judd and draft pick No. 46 (which became Dennis Armfield), in exchange for Kennedy, pick No. 3 (Chris Masten) and pick No. 20 (Tony Notte).

Toumpas could still become a superstar of the game as well as pick 2 & 3. Your giving up 3 potential superstars for one. Pick 10 you might get something out of but it's no gaurantee. Considering Adelaide can lose him for nothing next year & he's not as good as Chris Judd I'd say that offer is in favour of Adelaide by a long way. I guess it doesn't matter anyway as it's likely it won't happen.

Like how another club is trying to poach Mitch Clark?

Yeah, about that angry.

This competition is all about number one. If Dangerfield is open to talks and we aren't talking, we shouldn't be competing at this level.

I don't think it's overs. Draft picks (and Toumpas) carry significant risk - we of all clubs should understand that. Dangerfield comes with next to no risk from a "can this guy play" perspective. Any trade has to be weighted in Adelaide's favour to negate that risk.

Downgrading one of the high picks to a lower-top 10 pick is a very small change in my opinion, it's the trade equivalent of loose change. Just as likely to get a gun at pick 9 as you are at pick 3.

Toumpas is not a draft pick and nor is any other AFL listed player.

Just like every other player they need to be rated on there performances and what they look to be able to deliver. The fact that Toumpas was a high pick means nothing now and what he has shown on the field has been average at the very best. Injurys and playing in a crummy team and blah blah blah, he hasn't delivered in the AFL. And in my opinion he does not have the power or speed to be a high quality player in the future. Therefore I believe the trade I proposed is decent for both parties if Adelaide wanted to trade Danger.

You been having a chat with old Dangas? (Otherwise known as John...)

Edit: I see. Mates of young Patrick from school.

They would have been taught by his father then.

Fair enough but the difference with that is Judd had said he wanted to go Carlton so Westcoast were almost forced to accept the deal, which isn't really a bad one but in terms of Judds quality at the time they probably felt they could have got more from sides with better picks to trade with (if there were any at the time)

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
