Dom Barry is scared

FFS. Young guy, light build, finding his way in footy.

It takes confidence and experience to know when to go and when not to ... not to mention, none of us know what he's been instructed to do. Play as an outside receiver for example?

But yeah, so much easier just to pot a player from the safety of a keyboard.

There I said it.

Watched him closely tonight and he does mot wanna get near it when it's hot. Providing nothing as a small forward. Seriously not ready for AFL level football

Yeah, because you're out there just smashing them to pieces.

Get a grip. He's done some good things and been in some okay places to give and receive.

What other pathetically intentioned threads can come from Demonland?

You are basing your comments on what ?

Your courage in bagging a guy who has actually played the game at the highest level.

Do the site and the club a favour, drop dead.

He has struggled. Not sure the contract extension was warranted.

Average skills. Not quick. Not inside type. Works off his man so too loose for backman role.

yes. no.

no. no. yes. yes.

Dom has struggled, you are quite right. he needs time, that's all -- which is precisely why the contract was warranted.

Dom has excellent skills and he is very quick. he does not have that quick burst that some others have, but by the same token he can keep it up where others drop off.

No he is not an "inside type". he never will be. i'm not pointing at you SoNS, but there are some (many) on this forum who would like nothing better than a team consisting exclusively of rabid knuckleheads ("there, i said it") -- there is a name for that: "Rugby League".

Dom Barry is not "scared". he is unsure of himself and has played very little football with the senior team. it would help him immensely if his team-mates rewarded him for tirelessly working himself into good positions, but mostly they prefer to kick it down the line so that Chris Dawes can get get scragged by 3 opponents.

i have seen a lot of Dom and what i have seen makes me think he will prove a very good winger for us.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
