Mitch is officially on the list until Melbourne submits there "List lodgement 1" on the 31st October. You can say your retired or delisted but your still on the list.

Friday October 31, by 2pm - List lodgement (1); Rookie promotion to primary list; Retained second and third-year rookies; Scholarship players; Alternate talent player nominations, Total player payment (TPP) estimates.

actually depending on anyones intentions :rolleyes: you could remain there til the LAST list lodgement !!

Word on the street is that mitch will play for freo next year.

{............}

Edited: Please don't circulate unsubstantiated rumours, particularly ones that are almost certainly defamatory.

Yep and word on the street two years ago was Brendan Goddard had signed up as a member at Royal Perth and bought a property in Wembley.

I have said this for months and nothing has changed. If MC plays again it will only be with the MFC. He has been training for sometime under a MFC derived program. He does still desire to play again but this is far from certain. There will be a serious meeting with his manager in October if positive then with MFC pre 31st October.

I may cry tears of joy if this happens. You've all been warned.

I'd let him goto Freo if he wished. Of course i'd expect Fyfe in return.

ridiculous - I would want Ballantyne as well ( dislike him intensely but we need a bit of mongrel)

The questions about how this retired player could be retained/traded would be easier for me to answer if;

- The AFL released the current CBA.

- They adhered to the rules they legislate.

As they do neither of these things, I am reticent to say anything is, or isn't, doable in the AFL landscape.

I was just making a point about the malleability of list rules in the AFL. And he has retired. And Mahoney said he is not on the list. But someone else says he is on the list and can be traded.

So it will be what the AFL want it to be.

What, not giving them away for free?

HE IS ON OUR LIST and will remain so, until delisted at an official list lodgement. ATM he is ours, as I have said for a few months now.

I agree with Grand New Flag.

All jokes aside, the sight of Clark and Hogan in the team next year, would do wonders for the rest of the team and the supporters.

    UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

    Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
