Facebook page rumour saying GC has tabled 800k * 6 yr deal for Frawley due to cap space from Carmichael Hunt leaving.

certainly higher than the Cats deal ( well the info I was given anyways )

If he goes for $800k, that is an absolute steal for us in that we're getting a top 10 pick for him (MASSIVE steal because we wouldn't get that in a trade), and some other club is paying MASSIVE overs for him.

I hope he goes somewhere for between $700k-$800k.

We will get top compo.

Frawley will be going for a fair quid. Clubs don't have to give up a pick, so the incentive is there.

Clubs will pay that extra coin, otherwise they'll be without, their premiership hopes could rest heavily on recruiting a KP backman.

19.2 Special Assistance

(a) At the conclusion of the Home and Away Matches in each Football Year, the Commission may determine in its absolute discretion that a Club is entitled to one or more priority selections at the next occurring National Draft Selection Meeting. Such right to one or more priority draft selections shall be exercisable during the Draft as directed by the Commission

(b) The Commission will exercise its discretion under this Rule 19 only in exceptional circumstances taking into account a recommendation from the AFL Executive, the recent on field performance of a Club and any other matter the Commission in its absolute discretion regards relevant.

Oh... I see what he's done there we're asking for a priority SELECTION.

Wally Lock?

A great Demon premiership player who was unlucky enough to play in only one winning grand final (missing three others due to injury).

Don't even dare to mention the name in the same breath as Evans.

Also, if Vlad was around he would have impaled the bloke by now for playing those games. It's an absolute disgrace and I hope PJ diplomatically makes his displeasure known.

The AFL has certain criteria to apply - if we don't qualify on the basis of those criteria, then so be it. If we do qualify (and I think the case for is unimpeachable) then let us have the pick. It's a drop in the ocean compared to what the AFL handed out to GCS and GWS and the rule has to remain to help clubs that are genuinely in trouble.

Wally Lock is a relative,

Yep. They pay him more because they can use a pick on a cheap top quality player. Signing free agents is the best deal ever, you just have to convince them to come and not do a Melbourne (and Carlton) and screw your compensation.

Not if Mark Evans can make his case to the Commission of Drones. Expect plenty of vision of Port Adelaide before and after in the presentation to show the Drones that a club's form can be turned around in the blink of an eye. No need for any help move on.

It was always documented as special assistance, not a 'priority selection'. As has been said previously, this is most likely in the form of extra $$$ to fund the FD. I wouldn't be getting your hopes up about a pick.

Melbourne should definitely get Tier 1 compensation for Frawley, even if he takes the 3rd or 4th best offer out there.

That's good possibly they can let it through to the keeper in a Brownlow/GF week

Would be golden, appropriate and i believe not particularly begrudged but Other AFL fans for us to a special assistance pick in first round for loss of Clark, 7 years of misery, rebuilding against expansion teams etc, ... , etc ...

With picks 2 , 3, 4 we'd recover from being plundered for chip and itch, and able to set up some momentum to ensure 2015 brings some excitement to the lives of us long suffering MFC fans.

Dream on, wont happen but I agree it probably should. But even with those picks there would be no guarantees of success, refer to GWS. We are facing a climb like Everist I am afraid.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
