I love beating that mob, biggest pack of whingers this side of Essendon!!

Go the Mighty Demons, loved running over them at the end even though the umps were riding them home hard.

We still made some silly mistakes, M. Jones gifting the Tiges a goal, McDonald's handball into the corridor on 50 to 2 Tiges, but what I love is that they don't collapse in a heap after that, pick themselves up and keep fighting.

Great to watch.

Exciting game all the way through and you could even tell with the commentators, they were genuinely excited, contrast that to last year I think a Melbourne draw card was a bit of nothing. Great not to have to listen to Dwayne, but Sandy needs to get the names right! Salem/JKH/Toumpas, study them Sandy they're going to big!

To be fair I kept getting Salem & Toump confused as well!

10 goals in the second half. Really impressed we hammered home the man advantage that we couldn't last week. I haven't looked at all the final quarter stats yet, but I'd say we won 90% of the centre clearances in the final term. Led by Jones (who was terrific, particularly in the last), Vince, Cross, Tyson and Viney all played their roles. All of those mids were great in the last. They really stood up.

Some clutch goals in the last - Watts, Pederson and JKH.

I thought the ball was just bouncing our way early on, sometimes it's your day. But another great team effort, Red Legs.

It was great giving it to the Richmond supporters too. Hilarious.

Oh and after some early nervy touches, Jimmy worked his way into the game well. How was the pass off the outside of his foot to Watts? Lovely bit of skill. Another great tackle on the forward flank too.

Yeah some bad decisions but they chased and harassed like demons.

People are going to talk about the Tiges misses but I reckon at least nine were directly from our tackles and pressure.

Beating Carlton and the Tiges in the one year is very sweet to saviour.

Mate forget pressure and tackles at least 9 points came directly from our turnovers after kicking out from a point.

Viney and Tyson are the building blocks of a brilliant midfield.
Jones is amazing. That's 3 lock in ball winners every week for years to come.
Jones was just brilliant, almost a replica of his Carlton game.

How good has Howe been since he copped a bake against the Swans? Excellent game, flying around against some tall timber all day.

Gawny! Gave us more than Chip has the last few weeks. Chip back to defence to run it out so Grimes and McDonald never do ever again.

The Russian. Mumford-like since his return. Scrapping, tapping throwing it on the boot... Made a huge difference.

Pedo, wow. Thought the Ox was taking some grabs out there for a second.

Good to see the #27 back out there again. Ingo will be proud.

Umpires are [censored]. That starts with a c and ends with t + apostrophe s.

Watts. Iced it.
Worked very hard in the last and killed all the time Richmond had left. Excellent game and the effort I want to always see.

I could go on all day, but will finish with the tackling. Ferocious, best I've seen from us. Mauled the [censored] out of them.
Neeld wanted us to be the hardest team to play against. Well saying it is one thing, Roos has gone and done it.
We have some hard bastards and they all tackle like animals. And that is beautiful.

I thought Dawes was excellent again too - didn't get the big results but his contests and second efforts are quite inspirational.

Great to go to a game with the chance that we might win. What a change! Also good to see ua becoming a team that other teams don't want to play against....RIP Mark Neeld...then again, f..k him.

Finally,Tyson & Watts seem to be developing a rapport. How good is that going to be?

Really loved hearing Eddie's call in the last quarter "The Melbourne hard men, Jones, Viney and Cross...all getting involved".

Haven't heard about Melbourne hard men for a long, long time...

Roo reckons that Roos probably didn't realise what a good player he got in Bernie Vince, think he might have had an inkling.

For a kid playing his 20 something game, Tyson is really just showing his class and incredible strength around the contest for a young kid.

Well put.

I am proud and content in the fact that I know we will turn up every week and, at the very least, make it hard for the other side and bring some toughness and a little bit of arrogance.

This started after the Sydney where we frustrated so many of their players - it was on their faces. That's the start - you frustrate them, then you worry them, and then you beat them.

So very happy with the win. My heart almost exploded with pride watching our boys fight till the end. There is something special about betting Richmond.

My husband who barracks for Collingwood admitted to feeling apprehensive about the Queens Birthday game after watching today's game.

We are on the way up. Go Dees!!

Big win in front of a big crowd at the 'G - gotta love that !

Boys seem to be really enjoying their footy, and each other.

Most importantly, we snared the 4 points; it would have been easy to settle for honourable losses this year, it's awesome to get the reward for our hard work and effort.

Agreed.

Martin, and Cotchin in the fourth, aside, none of their players seemed able to get into space or to break clear.

Which is another point - we're spreading a lot more than we used to. It's still not perfect, but we have more players willing to push themselves to clear out when we have the ball. Richmond couldn't, or wouldn't, do that.

I don't even want to jump on the Tiger forum and watch the Richmond meltdown I'm just happy that we deserved it and won it........ I might have a quick look. :)

Just a look. Its not pretty. THey say there is a serious rift between hardwick and the players and choco williams.

They are going pretty feral. Dimma looks gone if you believe the hype...

Was being held at many contests and/or pushed in the back as well.

I loved Dawes at Collingwood and rapt that he came to us. Have we ever had a footballer who has such an impact on the field without necessarily kicking goals, getting kicks or clunking marks. He just absolutely busts a gut every time he runs out on the ground.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
