Salem?

Kent?

Always talk of just after 'one more preseason' but I do want to see Kent and Salem in the midfield in the future. Can't give up on Watts as a high half forward. Kennedy-Harris not really an inside mid but a mid in the making.

I'd love a run and pace half back first. Speedy inside mids don't come along very often. Viney is faster than people think.

what, none in the red yellow & blue hoops today, grab you?

The most important factor IMO was that we were able to put on scoreboard pressure early and denying the Crows the same. The players were then able to keep the Roos game plan in lockstep thereafter. The same happened against Carlton. We are getting better for sure but we still lack an offensive game that can win for us from coming from behind. We still need to find the right balance, but we are well and truly on the way up. This was an absolutely outstanding win in an away game with 44,000 hostile fans screaming for our blood.

makes you wonder about blokes like Morton, Gysberts etc and what might have happened if we had a coach who knew what he was doing at the time they came up

How long since we've won in Perth or Adelaide? A MASSIVE win, umps are worth 3-4 goals a game to the home side in these cities, given their one-sided interpretation of holding the ball and blindness to other obvious infringements against the visitors. Makes the current situation of non full time umps in this competition a continuing embarrassment. Great work, Dees!

Thought i's see how we tracked after 7 rounds last year.

After 7 rounds in 2013 : Points for : 525 Points Against: 954

After 7 rounds in 2014: Points for: 395 Points Against: 550

Difference: Points for : - 130 (21.6 less goals kicked by us than same time last year)

Points Against: +404 (67.3 less goals kicked against us than same time last year)

Wow.

Whats the story with Roos having a coffee with Tex? surely thats a beat up?

Mind you he's top mates with both Clisby and Vince and we have a bit of room in the cap...

But surely Adelaide can't let another top line player slip away...

True, I was at the game and he was fantastic. I assumed he would have been in the best 3 or 4 before I read the match report.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves a Gutsy win by our Finger tips . I dont want to rain on the parade but still plenty of bad habits to get rid of

After last weeks Game I said the positive was we no longer capitulate.

Today's game proved that in Spades !

For now I am happy and ecstatic about the win and we all should be so . Lets just hope there are more before seasons end and I will dine out on each and everyone of them . But for now the change is happening lets enjoy the ride both the ups and downs in the knowledge that maybe we have finally turned the corner and seasons need no longer be like having teeth drawn!

This post is Bang on. Situation summarised. The side not rolling over is a massive improvement on last year and advice worth heeding - savour the journey. there will be some hidings no doubt but enjoy the new found respect for the MFC as the journey continues

Sounds like Jetta had a great game. Listening to the radio was really hard to tell where he was playing though? Also, great to hear some praise for Terlich - he might just be a work in progress showing some goods signs now.

He played in the backline on Eddie Betts.

Can't feckin believe it, I went into the game thinking we wont get belted here if the boys bring the same intensity as last week, a win is only possible if we turn this into an arm wrestle. FMD what was that in the first half taken the game on and love that we are very quickly turning into a hard honest side. The fact we were challenged and held on speaks volumes to the change in mindset and the faith Roos is showing in the players.

He doesn't just talk the talk putting the unchanged side out there today was a big endorsement into his belief in the players, very few passengers today if any, injured/hurting players continuing to fight on, that is what culture and belief brings. Hope all you deelanders enjoy a drink or three tonight because PSD will

Or just look at the fact that we continue to restrict opposition scoring - we held the Crows to their lowest score for the year

We also had another week of our opposition kicking more behinds than goals, something I think should be attributed to the pressure our defense and mids are applying rather than just being "lucky".

we really need an inside mid with 'Pace', to compliment these guys, Tyson & Viney, etc. anyone seen someone like this recently, who could be available anytime soon, after this season???

That kid Dangerfield would be nice:

ConVince him to return to Victoria.

It's amazing to think we genuinely could be 5 and 2. That would place us 5th and everyone here, myself included, would be talking the F word.

Just imagine if we had have made Roos coach in 2002 - 2003. what would have become of Sylvia, McLean, Jolly, Thompson, Neita, JnrMac, et al.

Of course in the first half they were out worked. But Adelaide's bigger problem is talent. They have a few neat footballers but besides Dangerfield, Talia and Sloane who are the legitimate good footballers at that club? Brodie Smith if he could hit a target. And Big Tex of course. But besides that they are very meh

The two Crouch boys will be good, was the elder one playing today (he bald one) didn't notice him?

Genuinely one of our best wins since Daniher.

I was on here until three quarter time, then had to drive across town, so listened to the final quarter in the car. I was screaming so loud I'm fairly sure drivers in the cars next to me heard. Then, when the siren went, I blasted the sound out the windows so anyone near me could hear it.

To play as well as we did in the first half to set the lead up was fantastic, but equally great was the fact that we held on in the face of their onslaught and managed to kick away.

I'm still finding it hard to believe we actually won in Adelaide.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
