The fact Nathan Jones went head to head with media love child Marc Murphy and destroyed him brings a tear to my eye.

Jake the Snake gave Wanock a bath (surely he is bordering on worst player in the comp).

Chris Dawes provided so much structure, direction and assistance.

Well done.

Just looked at the stats. Chris Dawes must have played the best 8 disposal game I have seen. Provided a consistent target, was never out marked, always bought the ball down front and centre at worst. We looked so much better with him there, not to mention Chip had a bit more freedom to have a blinder.

No matter how much pain I suffer.

No matter the humiliations.

No matter how many $$$'s.

No matter how many times I look at the sky and ask why.

Days like today make it all worth it.

A big crowd gathered around the bar in the Olympic stand to watch the boys sing the song without any volume! The cheer that went up when they finished was awesome! My faith in footy is restored!!

I talked my manager out of dropping $50 on us to win.

I may not have a job on Monday...

I'm going to IQ that game and after each loss go home watch it and be happy with life again!

Amazing feeling.

Winning against anyone is great. But beating Carlton, and Malthouse, is just another level. Malthouse clearly dropped Waite and Garlett because he thought this was the week he could get away with it - EAD Mick.

And as for us - we weren't great, but we were a lot better, and there is a future there to be seen.

JKH has silken hands, his touch is superb. Dawes changes everything for us, thought he was grand. Cross was outstanding too.

We took a big step forward today. And we took it right on Carlton's head. Perfect.

... and that's why Bail is in the team! M. Jones best game in the red & blue too.

Dawes sinking 'em from outside 50, Spencer after a dismal start turning it around, Frawley and his 100 marks, Cross, Vinces crafty kick coming off HBF, JKH run down tackle in first quarter, Howes reversie into the pack, Viney, even Pedo's late pocket goal.. onya fellas!

Our first win against Carlton since The Kreuzer Cup, 2007. Would love to know the average losing margin in that time too. They're bad, but we really should enjoy this.

53 points.

Massive effort by the lads today to get the W.

So all those people saying we wouldn't win a game this year will be feelin like muppets right now (and rightfully so). Dawes was so important today, but it's funny it's not totally reflected in the stats. The two goals he kicked were absolute team lifters and he played a part in several other goals. But the big thing was all of a sudden the players moved it quickly to a target and although he didn't take the grab every time he made sure it came to ground almost every time and in fact his mere presence caused the blues players concerns.

A good team effort today well rewarded.

Agreed. He made such an enormous difference. We looked up and saw him and we had the confidence to put it in front of him. He had the guts and determination to make a contest even when he was double manned.

His two goals were immense from outside 50. Absolutely immense.

We didn't over posses it today, we missed a few sitters and gave away a couple of easy goals so I'm really happy with carlton never actually being in the game.

I hope Mitch Clark watched on and had a smile seeing his mates get a win.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
