Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Essendon v Casey Scorpions

I'm more interested in this game then I am in the ones as I have no faith we can kick a winning score and the Giants.

This game however has interest. Looking forward to seeing how the two lads perform after being dropped.

Also want to see if the so called 'senior players' like Tappy, Jamar etc decide to pull there fingers out of there backsides and get fair dinkum.

Quarter time scoreboard gives the impression of a similar (low) standard game to the main one

Jamar???

Watched the Scorpions thought Jamar was okay. Pretty scrappy.Thought no.17 was best along with 20. Not much from Trenners Toumpas, Mitchie although Trengove played in the middle in the last quarter and was better. Jetta good in patches but did not see anything to replace the current 22. Dawes is moving freely. Some heavey tagging on Michie and Trenners when on the ball.

I didn't actually realise Dawes played, will he be given more time at the VFL to settle back into footy or does he straight in regardless of form, same question goes for Jamar. Dissapointing if Toumpas, Trenners, and Michie all had quiet games. I really think Blease should be given a run in the seniors.

Did Dawes play?

No but he was fairly robust on the boundary with some mates.

Clisby in for Terlich next week, yeah? (Unless his 28 touches were all dreadful…)

McKenzie a possibility?

Pretty disappointing that none of Trengove, Toumpas, and Michie got more than 19 touches.

I'd rather see Nicholson than Grimes, both have shocking disposal, but at least Nicholson is going to run hard and have a fair dinkum crack

I want Clisby, Mckenzie and Blease as Ins.

Bail, Byrnes and Evans were very poor

Bail imo, is better in the back half, moving forward with the ball. I don't like him up forward.

Clisby I'd like to see in instead of Bail.

& I think Evans needs more than one game to find form in a unbalanced side.

What about Tompas, Trengove and Michie? If they can't get the ball at vfl level...

It's a real worry that Trengove didn't get amongst it more than that at VFL level, scary to think last year he was an AFL captain

Trengove never dominates when at Casey like you might expect. As I have stated previously, his lack of acceleration and agility will not be improved no matte what level he plays at week in week out. He either needs time off if he is suffering from OP or similar, re-invent himself as an inside mid, or he is not up to it. Sadly, option 3 looms as the favourite.

If Jamar can run out a game he must play. I am no Jamar fan but Spencer is getting monstered in the ruck.

Mumford had 60 hit outs today, that is far too much..

Our side is starting too far behind in the ruck stakes - and practically no forward line.

When the ruckman cannot give our mids first use - and our mids don't have any targets to hit up forward - makes life hard.

On top of that, we really need clean disposal out of the midfield, to even be a chance to hit a target going forward, Spencer getting smashed makes it impossible.

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
