How's that Colin Sylvia bloke going? Havent heard much about him this year.

He'll be a gun one day that boy....

I'm putting $50 on him for the brownlow in 2015.

Just got a good feeling...

Will you be ever able to get your tongue back in the right spot Machsy?

he was signed to play big games in September

This is far from a failure yet for Freo

Lets see how he goes down the home stretch

What Ross Lyon does is make sure you adhere to team rules and structures, from what I hear from the West, Col struggled with this through pre-season, more the defensive requirements of his role and was told until he gets this right he will not be considered. He had a good couple of games leading into getting suspended, then a few weeks back but Peel hasn't played for two weeks.

From all accounts he isn't to far away another really good game at WAFL level should see him get a game.

How can anyone say he hasnt been a failure.

Colin has achieved at Freo so far:

0 Premiership season games

Crappy NAB cup performance/s

Got suspended when the team actually needed him

Not exactly dominating the WAFL

Was deemed to not be fit enough when he arrived and had to play catchup for a while

He may come good, because he is extremely talented.. But at the moment, he has been a total flop

Why are talking about a Fremantle player?

Guys around here really have a tough time letting go.

Mate, it's seriously not looking good for them, he is hardly holding his spot in the 2's, getting suspended, really think they were hoping for a best 22 player.

Averaging an impressive 16 touches in the WAFL.

What a return on investment.......

Exactly.....I didn't realise he was a big game player as some on here would have us believe .

Really ?

So he is like Bradshaw at the Lions ? Injured, suspended or stink it up for the year and then turn it on in the last weekend in September ?

Ross Lyon - you are truly a genius.

Well I am glad it isn't just VFL / Casey that puts up with this crap - why can't we have a half decent feeder competition? Consecutive byes are a bloody disgrace.

Doesn't the AFL have any influence over these tinpot regimes? They keep on about developing the game - well this sort of garbage is pathetic.

Sylvia and Moloney both rotting away in the reserves of their new clubs. Tells a story.

Makes me feel like a pretty good judge of footy players, TBH.

Well, it either says a lot about Melbourne, or a lot about the standard of the VFL. Or both...

Sylvia would be getting 30+ touches a game on an average day in the VFL.

It's not surprise that the WAFL and SANFL are better leagues.

Sorry I have to laugh, You ask whey we are talking about a Freo (*Peel) player and then you go on and post more about it.

You must be one of the blokes that can't let Col go :)

Ahh just kiddin..

Interesting to see impact Sylvia has at Freo. For mine the biggest advantage Vince has over Sylvia is a footy brain. Love the way Vince manufactures a kick to a team mate when under pressure or finds himself in the right spot at the right time to provide an option for a team mate under pressure.. Can't imagine Col doing the same.

I honestly dont know if that is correct or not.

Shannon Taylor (?) was interviewed on SEN yesterday on the VFL hour ( now plays for Frankston) and he played last year in WAFL after being on the Eagles list and he said that the VFL is a much higher standard.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
