Ironical really given that when we did play him in the magoos after he served a 3 week suspension back in 2009 we were accused of tanking.

He should have played the Little League after his efforts !!

We would probably be accused of tanking for not selecting Robbie Flower at age 53 or something that year ... :):)

Col at least looked like a footballer should. The P76 was a design disaster as well as lemon of a car. Perhaps the West's answer to the Trabant? :)

Think Col would be better off in a Skoda.

Claret is a vulgar and inaccurate term BB. It's all shiraz for me!!

meh ....lo !! meh....lo !!!

Can do worse than a Skoda - built by VW.

Yes -- if Col is a Skoda, then a Trabant is Eddie the Eagle ...

I see it more as Col being at a T intersection...theres only really 2 directions to go . To make the 'right' choice will mean he has to pay attention and judge well the traffic he's cutting across and get things 'right'

or he can make an easy and lethargic 'leftie'

I know what i'm tipping !!

Or He can go a head, stop with indecision and total the car injuring others around him

God this thread cracks me up.

For years we had a "conga line of s&@kholes" attacking quite viciously anyone that would criticize the plodder that was Sylvia.

Those that called for him to be traded year after year were ridiculed by many.

Now every man and his dog line up to take pot shots. So often, you get what you deserve and sadly it is true with Sylvia and the MFC

A lot of them also defended his after hours antics as 'footballers needing to let off steam'. I wonder if it had anything to do with why he never reached his potential?

It would be interesting to see if Jack Watts would suffer the same fate as Col if he were to land at a Freo, Sydney, Geelong or Hawthorn.

Col has been banished to Peel Thunder for "not meeting the physical requirements for AFL football" .... when will he learn

He'll learn from this and take a good hard look at himself and come back a lot better for it.

Really just a sad story for all involved. Had so many lifelines and hasn't taken any.

So much wasted potential.

Oh well, we have Bernie!

Sad really. But his farewell speech at the B & F summed it all up

Col was never going to be elite. Had the ability but not the mind

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
