what an absolutely ridiculous stance.

Thats not the point at all. He we have a kid , ready made, playing finals and taking by the scruff of its neck,,,coz he CAN

we got a kid struggling.. Yeah yeah many will sugar coat it but Dimitri was supposed to be a ready made, played agaisnt emn etc etc etc...blah blah blah

thing is ..we picked the wrong one.

Look, if we had taken Wines and Port had taken Toumpas, we would probably be saying the same thing as Toumpas performed and Wines was surrounded by a poor side.

But I do agree it was a pleasure watching the Pies bow out so early.

Watching the change in Port this year gives me huge confidence that the Dee's can take just as massive strides next year.

This isn't a zero sum game. Ollie was great tonight, but Toumpas has attributes that Wines will never develop. Just enjoy them both, because each of them will turn out to be excellent players.

God I hope you are right.

Well id never have picked that Port would win by 4 goals. I gave them a chance but how sweet it is to have them out of the finals. It would be nice to see richmond lose as well.

Nothing funnier than seeing pies fans leave the ground in droves when port got 4 goals up

Is that on YouTube?

And can we help Collingwood find a new coach?

Some fresh blood ?

That game will give me no pleasure at all... I would hate to see Richmond win it, but at the same time I don't want Carlton to win it... they simply don't deserve to be playing finals... they are there under pretence all because the Bummers were evicted. But having said that, I get the feeling it will be a very good game.

certainly hope so ollie...

I think they have recruited more solid kids over the last 6 years when we went for choir boys... those in charge of our recruiting set us back. then went to the blues. everyone who stuffs us over, gets a job with the blues, after they finish with us...

its like the take their long service leave there, at Prices Park.

A bit sick of the could have, should have, would have threads.

If Wines played at Melbourne there'd be a mega thread on his wonky disposal by now.

But the guy is a beast and kicked 2 good goals tonight, wiped the smile off Eddie's face. Good on him.

Fact is we could have and should have. Even wanted to play for the MFC...

There's a flaw in your desire for Richmond to lose; it would require that you desire Carlton to win. And that I cannot abide in a Melbourne supporter.

Should have got him. Ready to go from Round one. Still going...

We've been over this a million times before.

Why did we need someone ready to go in Round 1? Were we going to make a charge up the ladder?

Our best is, quite clearly, a few years down the track, when Toumpas will be in his prime.

Contrary to yours, and many others', hyperbolic bleats, we did not need Wines. We did not need a player like Wines. And we are not worse off for not having Wines.

Would be funny if the tigs lose cause if they do it will be to a team who was supposed to be ninth but cause of the dons dramas they slip into the eight.

Would be ironic if it happens and very funny.

You hope.

You bet. It's better than fearing the worst.

To put it into perspective, Jack Grimes played one game in his first year, and that was due to his chronic back problems. We don't regret drafting him do we?

Jimmy Toumpas had hip surgery that interrupted his pre-season, and yet he still played over a dozen games. Give him time and he'll show what he was drafted for.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
