Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The story has been flying about for months apparently. With Healy rumoured to have have given his thoughts to AA as far back as April/May of 2012. Possibly after this conference:

Page-Header-RTP20121-e1309144216979.jpg

She is nowhere on this and while she has had the bit between her teeth with us she has been beaten to the punch on the greater controversies of Adelaide's cap cheating and Essendon's possible systemic doping.

You mention 'a good starting article'...

Where was our 'good starting article?'

CW drove our story and went overboard with her accusations. She will have to quickly realise how much doping is far worse than experimentation or she will embarrass herself.

absolutely. WADA could rip the AFL to shreds over this.

Little Jimmy Hird is in a bit of strife...

Robbo from HS has tweeted that the AFL have stood down players after a strike, "general soreness"......

Think of players who have missed blocks of games with mystery injuries. Maybe a hammy that was 1 week that become 4.........

Thae AFL commission are making a balls up of all this, & other stuff.

Now players who go out with soreness will be looked at with suspicion! Idiots.

I am reading Wilson right now. She goes in fairly hard. The personal attacks are not there.

But if these allegations are correct Essendon are finished.

I expect the league will want an answer before Round 1 considering the WADA bans are so strong...a year of this will not be wanted.

I'd like to see that!

Im just happy that its not the MFC I the paper for once.

If they do find something the players who took the stuff could be rubbed out for up to 2 years.

I hope Essendon get done for this, pack of arregent wankers..

Wonder how all the bomber fans are feeling now?

Doping is on another level to bottoming out for draft picks. If we were at the center of doping allegations i'd feel betrayed by the club

The rumour might have been flying for some months. And she wasnt breaking news but assessing the implications of the EFC reactions. And she raised a pertinent questions about Hird's alleged ignorance of goings on and implications for the Club and the AFL.

She did cover the Adelaide issue and bucketed both Adelaide and Trigg for it. And rightly so.

I am not sure MFC for all its comedic efforts in so many areas was deserving of good starting article. Just remember not everyone buys your we were the victims of circumstance.

Just to clarify.

- Players would be individually charged by the ASADA and charged. There is a 2-year penalty for a first offence.

- The club, the coaching staff etc. would all be dealt with by the AFL.

I don't think that's entirely true actually. The AFL might impose their own sanctions but according to someone on radio this morning (ex head of ASADA?) any one proven to be involved in the supply, use etc of a performance enhancing drug can be sanctioned by ASADA.

Also whilst the sanction for a first strike is 2 years the penalty under certain circumstances, can be halved (it can also be increased, if for instance it involves a player distributing)

Apologies if this has already been posted, but there is an interesting article in crikey.com today about this. You can see the full article if you set up a 2 week free trial sub (no credit card needed). Here are a few exerts:

Dr Robin Willcourt, who runs the Epigenx Integrated Medicine practice at South Yarra's Como Centre in Melbourne, told Crikey this morning Dank and his boss, Dean "the Weapon" Robinson, had came to see him last year about a proposed medical regime for Bombers stars.

"We talked with Steve and Dean about the use of peptides and other supplements, but what they did with that information I don't know," Willcourt said. A script was never written, and the duo went elsewhere.

Willcourt says the Bombers' blood readings made for uncomfortable reading.

... Steve swore up and down that the players weren't using peptides ... I was totally torn looking at their results because I'm looking at these players thinking 'man, you need help'. It was a very frustrating position to be in.

"The problem with that is that when you're a footy player and you're working your guts out and you get injured you just don't repair properly. You just see the players getting more and more injured as time goes by."

Willcourt says he thought a lot of Essendon players were taking bovine colostrum -- a substance that, while not illegal, includes an agent called IGF-1, regarded as a banned substance by the International Olympic Committee and the World Anti-Doping Agency. He says it's possible Dank or the club had later secured peptides from another provider.

"Dank was also very interested in getting placental extracts and stuff like I said to him that I didn't think they would do any good," he said. Robinson, the subject of intense media interest last year after his hiring, is a "terrific fellow" and a "fantastic chap". He has since been stood down.

A pharmacist at the adjacent Como Compounding Pharmacy, Nima Alavi, told Crikey today that Dank had visited 12 months ago and was "coming in proposing all sorts of crazy things. But we don't really get involved in that sort of stuff."

Hird looked shell shocked at the presser, understandably. To me he looked like a man who was just finding out about this. Agree that ignorance is no excuse, but that was my reading of it.

Who knows: either complicit, or incompetent as a coach and leader. Has to be one or the other.

And I ask again, has Jimmy's puppeteer, Thompson, been seen in the last few days?

Do Doctors or pharmacists have a professional or legal obligation to report such findings to ASADA/AMA or the some other body? If so did they do this?

patrick Smith wrote about it in the Australian this morning.

If correct the 3 strike system is a complete waste of time.

Vlad's term in office is certainly turning into a Situation comedy.

A strike does not necesarrily trigger the 'standing down' as I read the article. Decision is made by club medico that player is not ready to play ie that rehab for drugs/alchols/gambling takes precedence.

I wonder if this issue is that they may be at risk of testing positive on match day?

I wonder if ASADA is going to get any stored blood tests & urine tests from AFL players from the last year or 2, & Re Test them.

some high profile & seemingly high flying players may have something to be concerned about. and they even go over to their high altitude hide away, after being naughty boys or injured, to regain 'Fitness'...?

What is it they are pushing boundaries on?

whats in the air, or water over there?

The whole point about this is that there seems to be a helluva lot of information floating around about it in one place or another in an uncontrollable fashion, and there may well be a lot more to come.

[ Former Essendon player Kyle Reimers told Channel Nine that the club knew it was pushing the boundaries with its fitness program.

''From what they were saying, it was right on the borderline of what they were going to give us,'' he said.

''Everyone signed it, it was a personal choice as to whether they took it … it does seem very odd, the type of stuff we were taking.
They admitted to us it was right on the edge of the levels you could be taking.''

Dr Robin Willcourt has disputed crikey.com's version of his encounter with the weapon and Dank on an interview with 3aw a few minutes ago

said nothing unethical was discussed and the blood test figures discussed were ones of below average levels of testosterone and other tests (i.e. not high figures)

just passing on....

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
