essendope not to appeal.......despite the messiah wanting to

deflecting blame by saying it was the afl's pressure to bring it to a conclusion

Unbelievable It is truely amazing that he cannot see the forest for the trees.

Excuse me Mr Messiah Sir you had no bloody hope of winning an appeal.

It is not the AFL's fault it is yours

PS News site is saying Hird may still appeal has not made up his mind.

Wa nker!

Essendon reportedly not appealing Federal Court decision but James Hird is. What does this say about club's relationship with its coach?

Edit:- Indeed what does it say about its coach?

"Won't appeal despite being advised they would win."

hahahahahahahahahaha - they will say anything to keep their supporters sufficiently outraged with life, the universe etc, to ensure the outrage doesn't turn on them.

As i posted a while back in this thread this will test EFC's and Hirds assertion this all about the players given they have said they just want it over nd done with and an appeal will be yet another delay. Well it appears the EFC have listened? James? nup.

If he appeals I bet his rationale will be in part this is about his reputation. What a joke. Appealing will only trash it further and reinforce the impression of a selfish narcissist. Surely he won't maintain the charade of this being about the players. If he does he will add delusional to the character assessment list.

Hird is a delusional f'wit and has ruined all respect that he earnt over his decorated career.

Essendon has dragged this competition through the mud for their own wrong doing for too long. Time to end this.

Binney, I think it is a bit late to be adding delusional to his character assessment list.

PS:- May have gone early on the avatar.

Caroline Wilson is reporting: Hird to Face The Axe: Paul Little has called an emergency board meeting for early on Thursday to rule on Hird's decision to act against the advice of his club.Little and his chief executive Xavier Campbell are understood to have repeatedly urged the coach to abandon his legal battle but Hird to date has refused, insisting he is acting upon a matter of principle. At 5.30 pm on Wednesday, the club did not expect Hird to attend its 2014 best and fairest function

Most likely his 'principle' is by threatening to appeal he will force EFC 's hand to sack him and collect a contract payout and collect a cool $2m!! Is there an adjective to describe how despicable this mercenary man is??

Hird = persona-non-grata in AFL and even with the most die-hard of supporters!

I'll bet Hird will now say he is dropping his water-tight and bullet-proof appeal which he was sure to win just for the good of the club.

The amusing thing about this is that Robbo who thinks he is Hird's bestie has missed the scoop! He is probably frothing at the mouth!

Edit: 2nd para

I hope they have to pay him out, Bomber leaves for GC and they go on the hunt for a new coach.

Knowing these flogs they'll then try and apply an out of contract clause similar to what Ryder is using so they avoid the pay out.

Then they'll hit rock bottom (for once) and apply for a priority pick due to "all the stress".

DAM I hate that club!

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
