Voss Sacked

Brisbane coach Michael Voss will depart the Lions after being told on Tuesday that his contract would not be renewed at the end of 2013.

Strong speculation now surrounds former Sydney premiership coach Paul Roos. Roos is believed to have been unofficially approached by Brisbane about one month ago when he is said to have rejected an offer to return to AFL coaching.

Jesus. Did not see that coming. Looked like he was finally turning it around. Don't think they would be doing this unless they had someone like Roos lined up.

they said he failed to build a team that could beat Melbourne by more than 100points

Yep their goes our chances of an experienced coach....

Unless anyone thinks Ross is the go?

Roos probably signed with Brissy last year

I know we have to get our house in order but why does it always feel like the mfc are sitting around twiddling their thumbs?

I thought for a long time Roos was holding out for a club in a better state like Brisbane but thought Voss had saved his bacon with that game against Geelong.

On another note another same club player/coach gone. Primus last year, Voss this year and possibly Hird?

I not sure why people are thinking that this announcement represents a loss of Roos.

We certainly never had him.

And if Brisbane were not going to resign Voss, don't you think they might have had exploratory discussions with prospective candidates?

And as Freo showed 2 years ago, there may well be other Clubs flying below the radar exploring opportunities that we don't know.l

It's naive to think we are the only ones looking.

And heaven knows Essendon should be in need of a new coach too. Essendon's future will be clearer once the penalties are agreed and announced.

Wow Moloney saw a coached sacked in his first season. Hope brisbane dont get a coach that will be to hard on him he may want to leave.

I thought Brisbane would do the decent thing and wait until the 3 games are over. But maybe they are into roos and need to get an offer going.

The thing is though brisbane dont need to go down our path and get an experienced coach. They could get an experienced untried coach if that makes sense.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
