Viv Michie

well, it kindof happened already with savage so your feeling is probably not that out there unfortunately...

Did it?

I can't remember the public declaration of intent, Savage confirming he wanted to come to MFC, us offering Hawthorn a ruckman that will waltz into the 22, and then being spurned.

You may have wanted him, but don't talk sh*t.

Maybe a tad harsh, however only in hindsight. This time last year we were saying that Pederson was potentially a good KPP who was playing in the VFL because he was being kept out of the Roos side that had Petrie & Co holding down all the spots.

Just sayin

Actually, I was saying we didn't need him, we were paying too much for him and we were better off putting the time and effort into Fitzpatrick who would play the same role as Pedo but is taller and faster. Pretty sure I hit the nail on the head with that one.

Michie on the other hand is pretty much what we need. He's got all the attributes we need and he is desperate to get and keep a spot in the starting 18. Bring him in ASAP.

If a veteran of 1 game (Viv Michie) turns the MFC down despite being guaranteed 22 games because it has a 4th world midfield, the club may as well lock the doors for business and hand their licence back to the AFL.

You are putting a lot of stock into us getting this kid...

What if he is settled over there? What if we don't like the price?

If we haven't shut the doors yet, we are not going to call it quits because of a bloke called Viv...

Hope we land Michie might come on like a Barlow type, but I don't see Fremantle parting ways with him for a packet of chips despite his lack of games.

Why can't you say too much? You've said it's supposedly a done deal...

So why isn't it announced?

Young Viv might be a great bloke and might have heaps of talent and he might get over the spate of injuries that have so far cruelled his playing career.

What concerns me is that a lot of us are seemingly going overboard about possibly recruiting a bloke who has played 1 senior match in three years.

It must have been a most impressive performance that day, or am I missing something?

You’re not missing anything, he has achieved stuff all at AFL level yet everyone is drooling over him.

If he comes that’s great, I just hope we have negotiated a good deal which might explain the delay.

Look at the hype going over Tom Boyd who's played no AFL games. Michie at least has played 1! But they hype is over the WAFL form and under 18 form and the three years is misleading as he didn't get on the park for the entire first two years.

Just had a scrawl over the wafl website and his numbers were very good. Lowest disposal count about 24 and a few in the 30's. Had some foot issues in his first couple of years but stats would suggest he was over that. Did a bit of a knee injury rd 22 but is not deemed to stop him starting pre season. I say yes but not for much hopefully

We would all do well to remember that anyone who claims to have a source is wrong 90% of the time. Especially if they cannot/will not name them. FWIW I think we may have Michie my old boss actually works at Freo as a trainer and he seems to think that Michie is coming to us. However I wouldn't get my hopes up as nothing has been confirmed and there is still a lot of work to be done on this particular deal and others that the MFC are currently working on.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
