Why oh bloody why did it take so long if Mitch was never going to play again this season?

Good news though, I still think he can be more than the plodder everyone pigeon holes him as.

Good luck to him, well earned and overdue.

Can we just clarify early that those who are supportive of this decision do not necessarily think he is the solution to all our midfield problems? Seems to come up EVERY SINGLE TIME so just wanted to pre-empt such comments.

seems they actually considered playing mitch again this year

????? Why now ?????

Thats just strange - about time!

Because for the last two weeks he's been used as a tagger for Casey and done a very good job. He hasn't impressed consistently as an attacking midfielder so they might be keen to try him as a defensive one. His defense has also been a major issue when played at AFL level so it might be they have more confidence now.

Either way he's looked like only a VFL player but he might now be worth another chance.

Will he get a crack on the weekend?

would imagine thats prompted the elevation

possibly validates what the club has been saying: that Clark was genuinely indefinite and they were going him to be right any week just waiting for the injury to settle down.

Good luck to James, this is possibly his last chance at afl level to impress and keep his spot next year. GC will have him covered for speed but a kamikaze inside hard ball approach could be very effective against the younger bodies.

Don't think he will get the job on Ablett though???

Will probably be named emergency

quite possibly

You would only upgrade a rookie if you were actually going to play him. The disposition of whether Clark would play again this year was neither here nor there. The fact that he won't be playing this year allows the LTI call. Anyone at this point that has an injury with longer than a 4 week prognosis could have filled the spot.

I can only see Magner as being in because others are not available. Good blue collar VFL stock little more.

I wish I cared. But this club provides one big moment of 'meh' for me right now.

When will they announce something exciting?

Truely mistified by Magner being upgradred but not even in the 25 listed.

Why on earth upgrade him?

Is there some rule that you cannot upgrade after the weekend's games?

If not it seems a very strange decision but this is the MFC after all.

Then again there is only 4 rounds to go......

I guess he knows he is closer to selection than he was before.

Or it could be the case that the Club expect a number of like type players to head off for early operations so they can train the house down in the off season.

Magner not even an emergency. Seems very odd to me.

I'm actually more bemused that Strauss still can't get a game despite being consistently in the best at Casey for 5 or 6 weeks now. He is more of a chance of being a long term player for us than Magner.
