Yes McVeigh came across as a bombers sycophant. I get his loyalty but he is not the smartest tool in the shed.

I remember when McVeigh was asked about what he wanted to do after football and he replied he wanted to fight counter terrorism like Jack Bower...LMAO

Does this mean he wants to be a terrorist?

A good article re sanctions and players; Touchy subject particularly considering that this investigation is a joint AFL and ASADA investigation which WADA has stated they expect sanctions, will be following closely and if they are unhappy prepared to perform their own investigation.

Raises a few good points:

1) If they have been found to have taken banned drugs then the penalties are clear and under WADA should be penalised

2) Suspensions should include actual games to be meaningful

3) Jobe Watson has the most to lose...

Great article.

hard to see how the bombers will get out of this one - that's all clear as day for mine.

its the bombers who have been muddying the waters so to speak..

And do Black ops?

black ops hahahahahahahha

love it, and giving it to me best mate in bucket loads

I will be very disappointed if they don't cop a giant penalty

we could effectively play a drug free game against them every year from now on and maybe achieve something good for the community, after sewing up QB it would the next big match of the year

wonder how long it would last after we thrash em by 75 points though

They should have Anzac Day striped off them. Can't have the memory of our old diggers tarnished by these drug cheats!

yes, a reasonably balanced article that cut to the crux

one thing he omitted was that the text on the acc web page appeared AFTER essendrug started their little exercise so is irrelevant as an essendrug defence

more worrying though is the possibility of other banned drugs

i presume they have interviewed the chemists who supplied stuff and the nursing staff who injected, but even that could be inconclusive depending on labelling

I also disagree with his WADA-aside opinion that players should not be punished at all

sorta hypothetical .

Essendon found guilty. Premiership points wiped for the next applicable season ( a la storm )

they wont get to granny this year anyway and penalties unlikely to be dished out til after gf i reckon.

Bombers incur massive and i mean massive multi million dollar fine.

Players get a deal and recieve 6 month bans.

Coaches banned for 10 years .

Others fines to these.

now the 64 dollar question .

When do 6 month bans start ?

id really like to see them cop 1 year as that is 1/2 of the normal 2 year ban but have sneaking suspicion theyll get less i.e 6 m

The idea of a 6 month ban seems somehow repugnant to me.

Presumably it would be served between October and March meaning only NAB Cup games and perhaps round 1 lost. That's no suspension at all.

There seems to be a lot of disparity in what people think is fair for drug breaches.

Wade Lees, a VFL footballer, orders a supplement from overseas, never gets it because it is intercepted, doesn't know it is illegal, never even touches it and cops 18 months.

Saad could get 2 years for taking a drink he didn't know was illegal.

Bombers players have 20 injections, believing them to be legal and may get off completely.

Either way, there must be some QC's licking their chops.

What they do in their private lives is fine by me as long as it's between consenting adults.

You watched too many episodes of Rake, Biff.

I can relate to rake-except I failed to make it law school.

However I use one often in my work, and I drink quite a bit.

and I'm always running late for court, or missing it entirely.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
