I smell he has a better offer elsewhere.

Of course I would love your thoughts to be fact!

I know 2 Board members from different club who have said that the only Footy bosses worth their salt (compared to the corporate world) are Brian Cook and I think Nisbett from WCE. Having said that, if you can be at Collingwood for so long, you must have some good things going on.

that maybe, OD, but we have the backing & persuasion of the 'knights of the round table'... so you never Know your luck in a big City?

... did you ever consider he may be getting (Sic) of stripes?

You could look at it from a different direction and say most people could be succesful at the Pies.

Good Player List, Rolling in money and will be into the next millinium, good management around you, supporter base will take whatever you serve up.

I reckon I could make a reasonable fist of it at Collingwood.

Seems to be a lot of confusion on here about his role. He was not a Board member, he was not the CEO which is what Cook and Nisbett are. He is the guy who is the head of the Footy Dept. This is the position PJ has said he is creating and is actively looking for someone to fill. This is the position that Mahoney is fulfilling on an interim basis at the moment and has to apply for along with everyone else. This is the position that will report to PJ and will replace the 4 people who were reporting to Schwabb.

My guess he has a job to go to and told Eddie who said ok, get stuffed I'm making you work out your 3mth gardening duty. This is almost the most important position PJ has been looking to fill, he would have worked with Walsh at Nth. Connect the dots!

UPDATE: Apparently he's just been interviewed on SEN and has categorically stated he hasn't spoken to anyone else. So who knows what's going on. You usually only leave a job like this in the middle of the job ie the season, if you have another job or have a falling out with your employer and you get the flick or resign.

Agree with most of your post but don't remember PJ being at North.

Bit of case of whatever they say making news as well.

Harry O and Eddie are always in the news, it's just this time they made a bigger splash.

Not convinced the other 4 players said anything too out of line either. And you can add Dane Swan to the list.

Buckley is revamping the club to do things his way. He would've learnt that under Mick and with his natural confidence/arrogance it's not a surprise either. It's just a question if it will work.

Well you're talking about CEOs there, and Geoff Walsh is not one of those.

However, Peter Jackson is.

In addition to that, Cook is not the messiah he is beaten up to be.

He's just had to fire the Cats GM of commercial ops after they have performed poorly financially this season, and he is under some scrutiny from the board.

A very capable CEO, but hardly infallible.

No one is infallible 'Mach', but his record is 2nd to none. At least he has taken quick action to change things up.

yes but does he have a manager or other, looking after his affairs of state.

paper talk is only worth the old friday fish wrappers, but these days its to throw out the seefood leftovers into the bin.

But this time we have a skilled guy doing the looking.

Can you name the only AFL Senior Coach Peter Jackson has appointed?

Hopefully he has learnt from the mistakes at Essendon in his tenure as CEO that saw them decline into mediocrity.

we'd have to be in the box set.

hawks aren't looking for someone to fill this role - they poached fantasia from the bulldogs to service this exact role, unfortunately he's been very ill since jumping from dogs to hawks.

so these clubs are looking for the (equivalent of) gmfo:

melbourne

collingwood

footscray

walsh would be ideal for all three, but he's just left one of them...

very weird what's going on at the pies at the moment.

there's also a strong possibility that there'll be a vacancy at the peptides in this role.

Also saw them win the 2000 grand final and almost be the perfect team.

I know this is a bit airy fairy but I like it, I like it a lot.

Geoff Walsh could head to Melbourne after quitting Collingwood on Wednesday

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
