Jobe took banned drug

I agree WYL, there was/is a sense of realness listening to Dean speak, as with Ling'y and Darcy. McVeigh reeks of coaching.

I want to hear more about the pigs brain to increase infield awareness.

it is amazing that Vlad is on a junket right now.

This is the bigest AFL story for decades!!

Exactly, was he timing it to be back before ASADA'S report in made available? This interview only surfaced in the last couple of days.

Mcveigh is hardly independent

Spot on I turned it off could no longer stomach the Ch 7 lot.

A couple were almost weeping for poor James

Their empire is near collapse and they know it.

As for Mcveigh I remember him in the first week of this saying they only ever had Vitamin injections.

I didn't watch the entire programme but didn't it seem that there was an attempt to sweep AOD-9604 under the carpet?

WADA has banned AOD-9604 under its S0 category, which covers substances not approved for human use.

Didn't Jobe Watson admit to having been injected by AOD-9604 and hasn't Essendon been suggesting that ASADA told the club it was OK to use it? That and the possible injection of other banned substances seems to be the crux of the matter to me.

I understand that this was about the Weapon's personal story about the toll his standing down from the club was having on him and his family but I would have thought that the use of AOD-9604 merited a lot more coverage than it got in the programme.

Dons told drug was not legal

If the Weapon is trying to tell us all he had very little knowledge of the supplement program and thought it was all above board and didn't tough the stuff besides a bit of Melatonin2 or whatever it's called to make him tanned and lean then surely he doesn't know anything about AOD right? That's the line I'd be spinning if I was him. I know nothing!

The weapon was tipping as much dirt as he could without incriminating himself. Some prior arrangement was likely made to ensure that AOD-9604 was side stepped in the interview.

Yes, I remember. ridiculing, who was it? Reimas? In that interview he did right at the beginning, according to mcveigh, sneering at the delisted player, they only ever had vitamins, and everyone knew that. Liar or uninformed. He is an unreliable witness.

As for Darcy saying that he believes in second chances, take that to its logical conclusion, let essendon off with a slap on the wrist, cos they didn't mean to cheat! The discussion was frustrating in the extreme, soft, predictable and totally unenlightening!

McVeigh is just there to give the Essendon POV. A foot soldier for their spin and propaganda.

And also derided/lambasted Reimers in this first week for talking rubbish over the supplements program during his whistle blowing interview.

In addition, when asked tonight whether there were any players other than Zaharakis who refused the program McVeigh intially said something along the lines of "there were others", then when prompted again said "the OTHER player", then contradicted himself yet again a little while afterwards saying "the others who refused".

The question also needs to be asked, why is McVeigh's view given more weight than the guy who started the ball rolling in the first place, Kyle Reimers? McVeigh's reaction/info in that first week towards Reimers and his interview has since been proven to be so off the money yet Chanel 7 uses McVeigh as their main "go to" guy for all things Essendon. Seems a little strange IMO. Why not bring in Reimers for his opinion as well???

This might be a critical point. If (and it's a big if) the players were told that they were only being given vitamins (1) McVeigh would be correct in saying he believed they only ever had vitamins and (2) medical fraud would have been committed if they'd been injected with something else without their knowledge or consent.

It's not strange. He's on Channel 7's payroll. Similarly, Channel 9 goes to Matthew Lloyd for the same reason.

i can't see medical fraud if players signed a waiver saying they could be injected with aod

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
