Dayle Garlett

This bloke standing at the feet of Clark, Dawes, and Hogan is a mouth-watering prospect. Everyone on here says 'Oh, we need small forwards'... yet, have reservations about picking him. Yeah, he has had some issues in the past, but it looks like he has woken up to himself.

That said though, I can't see him making it to Pick 40. I'd see one of the WA clubs picking him before that... although, it might be best for him to get out of that state.

IF Roos applies the "Roos NO BS test" and he comes through, why not? Roos isn't going to take him unless he is confident: doesn't make too many errors picking smokerys.

He has become a Mormon and will be requesting an allowance for his 4 wives.

Apart from the baggage hitherto mentioned ,I read that he is off the Winnies and Bourbons.

The kid is an extremely popular person where he lives and is very well liked .

I suspect the Eagles and the Dockers will be spreading rumours that he is the new Kieth Richards so as to snaffle him up in the draft.

Has anyone got footage of the film Bran Nue Dae?

I am hnadicapped in the upload dept ,and others.

If he's the new Keith Richards, definitely draft him.

That guy's a legend.

Well worth the risk if he's available at our pick. Getting him out of his home environment will help to keep him on the straight and narrow and not too many kids would misbehave when they have Chris Dawes, Mitch Clark, Nathan Jones and Daniel Cross to answer to. He could be the final piece in our forwardline.

Well, if those stats are down then he should be considered.

Garlett at pick 40 is a must (if he is available).

The best quick small forward available to us at that pick I believe is what we require. That or a key back.

The kids f&$ked up...so what, take the punt, forget the past...seriously...what have we got to lose!

He won't be there at pick 40. If he is then it is a steal. Even if the kid had some issues Mitch Clark will give him a whack around the ears if he plays up. Plus I for one am over the goody goody two shoes players

From Herald Sun.. I'm seriously hoping we are into him and he slips to pick 40..

Will Dayle Garlett get drafted?
Earlier in the year, it was a resounding yes, but clubs remain nervous about drafting the silky midfield-forward from WA. On talent, he might be top-15. A smooth-moving outside runner who has shades of Harley Bennell, kicking almost 50 goals in the WAFL seniors this year. But defensively he can be poor and many clubs, such as West Coast, have again put a line through his name. In our view, he is worth taking the chance, at a strong club, with a late pick. There will be lots of busts from this year's draft. His best chance might be at Geelong or Hawthorn.

We are not in a position to "take a punt"- we still need midfielders. If you need a little reminder about that I invite you to cast your mind back to Jurrah over Rockliff decision, and how that gamble payed off for us..

Bloke can kick goals and that's nice. How many goals will be leaked getting hurt the other way?

And is he the sort of character to work hard on his game and add a defensive component. If the evidence suggests that he won't then he won't be selected by a Roos lead club.

Highlights reel underwelming I feel, except for some long kicks for goal. That whole package reeks of softness. good we he gets a run at it, but not impressive when in contested situations, and that his highlights package. looks the type to go to watyer if someone sticks on him.

nowhere near the talent of a Jurrah for instance in pure football terms, except maybe kicking.

We've got enough projects already.Hope he gets overlooked altogether.

He's a completely different type of 'project'.

He can seriously play which everyone knows. He has already stated that living in WA with his mates makes it harder for him to really settle. If anything, he needs to get to another state and at least get on a list and be given a shot.

I would rather take the chance on someone like him coming to our club and us being able to curb that side of his personality than to continue to try and squeeze everything out of the countless talentless players we still have kicking around.

a nice project for for Roos, VIney and Stone

hope we get him at pick 40

Pick 40 to big a risk, there's still some good players around at 40. (Cameron Giles, Mitch Honeychurch)

I'd only take him if we were looking at a bargain basement price of Pick 94 (if we use it) or PSD Pick 2.

You don't think he'd still consume a lot of time and resources, if he's going to be able to turn it around?

Time and resources that we need to pour into our entire list at this stage?

You could reel off the names that need guidance that we already have... Will Garlett get the time put into him that he needs to not be another wasted talent?

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
