I try to make it to more games because the team needs supporters now more than ever. I think the club needs help and while it hurts to be absolute shyte I think the coaches and players are working hard to try and dig out of the problems that culminated into 186.

Peter Jackson will identify the changes to be made and if we have confidence in his ability theb all we should do is turn up and show our support. I do however understand that we supporters are running low on faith because we have been sold too much hope in the past 6-7 years.

Up until about 3 years ago , I'd only missed about 20 home matches in 45 years of watching mostly inept Melbourne teams underwhelm me .

Currently we have easily the least inspiring collection of players to ever represent our club, and I have only brought myself to attend 2 home games.

I will not attend again until the players demonstrate that they deserve my support!

If I can get to a game I will but on T.V. like yesterday that game style is impossible to watch. So rather than throw things at the screen I just turn it off as sometimes they are unwatchable

How's that poll working out for you, Tonatopia?

I wouldn't have thought a 15% drop off of demonland tragics is a great result for Neeld either.

We are the most committed of supporters and a fair percentage aren't going to attend. Now multiply that by the number who can't be bothered to vote or post and the trend is very worrying.

I know 11 members who will not be signing up next year.

So instead of trying to score cheap points from other posters, why not try and come up with a solution to stop the bleeding.

Mine is to get rid of the vacuum cleaner of hope and expectation.

Yeah sounds like an amazing idea, not only will that hurt the club further, it sends a great message to the players like Trenners that we're right behind them. Grow up!, this kind of attitude was the death of Fitzroy and will be the death of us. Enough with the negative energy! The players need us more then ever. Stuff Neeld, stuff the board get behind the players.

Wouldn't it be nice if players on other teams saw the MFC as totally supporting the team through this!

Thought you weren't going anyway, not going to get me that easy, tell you what if you have paid your membership and you have a reserved seat, donate it to someone who can't afford to go to the games, the Club could help you with that

Never said I wasn't going, just don't want to.

I've already organised a lift in, did it last night.

Just not looking forward to gettin flogged and putting up with shite on the field and shite in the stands

What a complete bunch of whinging [censored]. When we find form and start winning you will all jump back on. Follow your team through thick and thin. Man up biatches!

For me to attend a game is a 9 hour turn-around.

I will not go again until I am guaranteed a competitive effort, be it Neeld or whoever as coach.

Posted

I will continue to go to home games because we need the cash. But I think unless we are playing a lowly opposition, there really is no point going to away games right now. Footy makes me angry and sad and I don't deserve to feel like this. None of us do.

Until something changes, I can't see my passion or enthusiasm being restored and so naturally footy will be lower on the priority scale.

It's a sad reality when even die hard tragics like me who have missed maybe a handful of games in about 10 seasons are so over it.

We do, but 7 years into a rebuild it starts to wear thin.

That and when you go to the games and spend 5 hours of your time and $50 of your money and see what is dished up by the players and coaches, why should we?

Oh we support the club, which means we hurt, do the players and the coaches? No as much as us me thinks.

I watch all the games, go to all the home games except where family gets in the way. I've stuck through a lot of thin and arched this club implode time and time again.

No matter what new topping they are sprinkling on top it's still a steaming pile of shite.

I've supported Melbourne all my life whilst living up and down the east coast including many years in Queensland. I returned to Melbourne 9 years ago and took out a Redleg membership, just under 4 years ago I moved to Sydney for work but have kept the membership. The first two years I was able to fly back for 4-5 games, last year due to work commitments I couldn't attend any. I was told on Friday last week to pack my bags for two weeks work in Melbourne, the first thing I did when I got home was to grab my membership card and scarf out of the cupboard. Yes we are currently [censored], but at least you guys get to see the [censored] live at the G. I can't wait to go this Sunday against the hawks and in two Mondays against the pies. I'm not expecting to see us win but I want to see the likes of Terlich and M Jones play. If any of you have been to Cronulla there's one pub there called Northies, it has a poor excuse of a sports bar, but when I home and the Dee's are on the box I'm in there. On the big projector is the league and the commentry coming through the speakers but on one of the small tv's in the corner is the AFL with the volume down and me drinking coopers pale ale making more noise then the rest of the bar. People often come over to look to see what all the noise is about. Most of us want Neeld gone but not the club, not attending games is not the way to go. Why not go but when the effort of players is not there stand and turn your back to the game. If a whole section of supporters did that in unison that would have a greater impact. These may be the only two games I get to see this year so I'm there.

Good form, ha, what's that again?

5 wins in a season and a half. Only 1 against a Victorian club.

Thank god my son is too young to comprehend this.

And to quote the great man,

"I wouldn't change a single thing"

Thanks neeld, you have the I.Q of a mental pigmie.

Please pj, for the love of god, get rid of this arrogant, senseless spirit breaker.

This is not the army, we don't want stupid robots. And that's exactly what he has given us, stupid robots.

Where the hell are spirit players;

Moloney

Green

Rivers

Wonamirri

Jurrah

Martin

Petered

Nup, not enough space for those blokes.

Gee bloke hope you are talking about yourself there, I have fulltime job, love going to see bands, can recommend a few restraurants for you,.....but spend a couple of hours once a weekend supporting my team....it is only footy...sorry forgot also go to training some Saturday mornings before brunch on Swan St........think you will find it is loyalty with most who would not consider not going

I was just joking around - hope I didn't offend you. I admire your stamina

Can I repeat P-Man's call from earlier on and request that if people respond to Satyriconhome, they don't quote him? Quite frankly, I'm sick of reading the drivel that qualifies as his posts. Like a cockroach, I just can't kill them off despite the fact that I have put him on ignore.
As for the Dees,I'm pretty snowed under with tests and exams at the minute but I also need less stress in my life, not more. I just walk away angry after watching the footy.

Jurrah should be in jail, that's not Neelds fault.

If neeld even bothered to look at our past, he would have realized how important Jurrah and wonamirri were to the spirit of this club. He should of had the empathy and courage to support them thru some serious challenges in their life. It's seems that he made those 2 special indigenous boys feel like pieces of cattle to be disposed of if they don't step into line.

I didn't support the hiring of Bailey, but at least the club was enjoyable to support during his tenure. Neeld has turned it into a north Korean army march.

Those players I mentioned earlier, were the reason why kids follow the demons. You need those blokes to create the spark which ignites the spirit. It was enough to make respectable football professionals to claim we had the players to make the next super team. Look at us now, unbelievable. Unrecognizable. Miserable.

not go as a protest? no bloody way.

summon the enthusiasm to go? a much much more difficult task.

I will go no matter whose coach, must admit l've never seen them so bereft of will to win. No guts or determination, the whole club needs to turned over from McLardy to Neeld and to about half the playing list. Ther a rabble and in all my years of watching them including growing up in the 70's- 80's they have never been so weak and pathetic.

He only has 2 games left as coach. Whatever money we lose from people not going over the next fortnight we will make back threefold when/if we land a big name proven coach.

2 games?

Didn't you say this 2 games ago?

Will that happen in two weeks time will it?

That big name coach will rock up middle of the season?

You don't have to go to the games but don't boycott the f___ing club...

How is that not self-defeating?

Posted

No one in my family watches them and will not watch unless we become competitive. Many better things to do in life than watch a football game with no intent.

Culture , the Board i, the drafting lets not mention the coach. Hoe utterley silly to have someone like MN take control.

No more, but will still be a member

I can give you some help with the tests and exams if you want, stop worrying about me for a start and stay off Demonland, that should free up some time, I didn't realise you were a modern student, but that's all right there is no need to apologise, you going to contribute to a topic for a change when you get the chance...........

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
