Just read Watts has a hammy injury and is out this week.

Who comes in?

This week is going to be very, very, very ugly.

The fact that my girlfriend is a mad Carlton supporter will make it that much worse

If we go in with Sellar at FF & Pederson and CHF i might spontaneously combust

Who cares if Fitzy is a little underdone?! Bring him in!

Maybe try Dunn back in the forward line?

According to SEN Fitzpatrick and Dawes are a few weeks away. I will be happy if we lose under 100 points.

Is there any difference between Dawes doing stuff all in VFL or AFL? Plonk him and Gawn/Jamar in the forward line.

Stick with Gawn, Pedo and Howe up forward and Dunn and Strauss come in down back.

A running player on the chop ping block - Rodan/mckenzie/blease/Davey earns a reprieve.

I don't think Fitzy is ready and whilst we are playing 2 rucks I'm not sure we need another big awkward body forward.

Put Frawley forward. Carlton's bigs won't do anything. Just try it for a round, not going to be the difference between winning and losing.

If kicking a couple of goals gets his head back up and maybe sparks a bit of enjoyment of the game for him, i can't see it as a negative in any way. Blatantly obvious how flat he looks recently.

I can see about a million negatives in Frawley forward.

I'm also not sure how watts not playing or Dawes for that matter is devastating.

Taking a line of form through Adelaide where Brisbane pushed them hard at the Gabba and with a bit of luck they wouldn't have been out of the game against Carlton.

A loss is heading our way but we shouldn't fear Carlton will completely destroy us.

Personally I don't rate Watts at all. But even if you do the silver lining of playing another midfielder will help against Carlton.

Watts not playing will have zero effect on the result.

I wouldn't go quite that far. It certainly won't help.

Either way, anything other than an ungodly thrashing would surprise.

Taking the boys to the ice hockey instead this week. At least I will get to see some enjoyment on their faces for a change

Amen, could almost have a positive result if he was planning on playing backline

Where do they play Ice hockey? My fiance's Canadian so I might tak her to a game. We've already got tickets to Canada vs USA in June I think it is.

At the Ice House down at the Docklands around the corner from Costco.

Dawes a few weeks away....

Sounds good to me. Lets slowly build up our 25 year old marquee recruit at Casey, for a round 13 return. We can't afford afford to throw him to the wolves too early.

I would have thought three weeks back at VFL level would have been enough for Fitzpatrick to put his hand up as being match fit.

Thanks Goodness we've got Gawn back in the team. At least between he and Jamar we can now provide a contest up forward - providing the ball gets inside 50 that is.

...and the players, and your club.

I don't understand why you constantly refer to the MFC as "your" club. Are we not all supporters here of our club. Maybe why there is constant sniping from you because it isn't "your" club.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
