Lucky they can't kick or it would be close to game over at half time. Again.

Seriously rubbish defensive efforts. We are attacking well (despite many empty forward lines at times) but we are nowhere near our opponents when Brisbane are attacking.

Garland has been superb. I'm sure his bashers won't agree.

Now can we man Moloney up? Jamar is still rucking to him.

Stuie - you're just wrong. It will be hard for you accept that - but it's a fact. You've got rose coloured glasses that are restricting your vision - all the people without those glasses are the one's watching the game "properly".

If he's injured, that might be why he's NOT chasing HARD

I'm not watching with any glasses, unlike you with you're typical Watts hating goggles.

He's the ONLY ONE trying to chase hard when Brisbane are going forward.

I'm not impressed with the commentary, someone turn Leigh Matthews mic off.

It's been horrible. Constant talking down of both teams and anything decent they do is viewed as surprising. Matthews is the worst offender. Condescending [censored].

I'm assuming we have clearly abandoned the "hardest team to play against" game plan? How much time and space are we trying to give them here? Incredible we aren't 10 goals down.

Rodan has been handy in congestion.

Agree, is the only one who can get a clean handball out at this stage.

Posted

This is not Watts fault. It's the non-existent midfield pressure.

Exactly. Watts is being crucified for looking slow when chasing, when all the mids not chasing at all are being let off the hook.

Posted

Rodan just has no defensive effort especially in the midfield.

Mckenzie in the backline isn't great. I'd put him on the ball on to moloney.

Watts should be subbed if he's injured.

Blease and Bail have got to smarten up. Both regularly burn simple options. It's really selfish and bad.

Posted

I see him 'chasing' 5 metres behind his man every time

Who else do you see chasing? NO ONE. That's why he's so buggered.

can someone call the coach... if we can pressure them just a little in the MIDFIELD were a chance

Rodan and Blease don't have the tank to compete at AFL level. They should not be in the side. Jack Watts is chasing hard, and when stuie and I agree on something, you know you should take notice.

6 points down at half time is good, but 213-148 possesions not so good :/ we need to man up more. If we can do that we may be able to pull it off :)

Posted

Tackling pressure has been good, but the ease with which they've run it through the middle is [censored] startling.

Agree with Jaded that Garland has been very good again. Byrnes too is following up on last week, that goal he conceded aside.

Posted

We're being beaten statistically just about everywhere but this is actually the closest we've been to anyone this season at half time. Closer than last week. Now we just have to hope that the Lions have buggered themselves out with all that effort in the first half and bob's yer uncle!

Posted

I say again, Cornelius is hurting us!

... it says a lot for spending time in the 2's to build desperation & desire.

a few of our so called starlets could have used this treatment.

Thats because we are both paying appalling football.

It's a miracle we are not down by 6 goals

12 less inside 50s FFS

How does Moloney get 20 touches in a half, Neeld even said at qtr time theyd put some resources on him

Byrnes passing to the man on the mark wtf

Tapscott KEEP YOUR FEET FFS what is he doing

Watts, what can you say, weak, soft and lazy

Rodan was good that qtr as was trengove

How many times do we have to see the same obvious problems, why do we continually let our opponent just stream through the middle unpressured? Why do we always have such shyzen kick-ins while the opponent sets up plays from theirs?

Nathan Jones 5 touches is really hurting us, needs 20 in the second half

Posted

their midfield has had a free ride and yet we are only 6 points down.. our mids can only get better as this game goes on, we are within striking distace, we will bring it home

Posted

I ain't having a go at his effort, just his positioning and the fact he isn't a defender and can't read his opponent and stay with him to he ball. He always ends up a few feet behind.

Not. A. Defender!

Whether he he plays forward or back principle still applies.

Simply doesn't want it enough.

Time to see th MFC move forward without him in the senior team.

I sincerely hope that their midfield has run that hard that they have nothing left, or we will be done like a dinner.

Posted

Top 15 disposals winners at half time. Brisbane has 13 players in it Melb 2. Terlich and Sylvia... Our midfield is putrid... But can still win haha.

Posted

Trengiove 6 possessions, would be nice i9f he did something in the 2nd half.

Hes had 6 tackles which I'd say is doping something. You should open your eyes when you watch/

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
