We'd need to be winning for a few years to get a fair shake by the umps over WA.

I watched one year we played WC over there and they were allowed to throw it, was amazing.

It's criminal what goes on over there with the umps.

But, in saying that, I will be happy if we don't lose by 100 plus.

The spotlight will be on the way we play not on the result

Eagles are struggling IMO

I just want to see any of the below:

-some sort of team game plan/strategy.. some thinking

-some reaction from Neeld, move players, drag players, try something

-some sort of awareness of your opponent, both with and without the ball

-genuine fearlessness at the contests

-some passion, leadership and talk

-some skills that at least resemble AFL standard

-someone, anyone to do something special.. a highlight (exc. Howe)

-Watts, Grimes, Trengove, Sylvia, Jamar and Frawley look like the quality you are supposed to be

that's my 8 criteria, each of them are worth several goals on the board

I will review post-match at how they went

please God not over 100 points

Noone tipped us to beat the dons last year, and we are better than what we have shown on the field, somethings gotta give.

We can but I don't think we will I would love a win against them more than any other side but would settle for a much improved performance and a strong effort across the board. I dont think Lecras will play but then again they really want to win this game because they do not want to be 0-3 which means Kerr & Lecras are being considered.

I hope it rains and turns into a slog as I believe that may even out the contest and keep the score low, to be close for a lot of the game may increase some confidence

Is LeCras the quickest healer on earth? I'd be astounded if he plays, given he broke his arm.

I would cringe if Nic Naitanui would be playing.

I think I'll be cringing anyway on Saturday, regardless. No I don't think we will win. But I'm hoping like hell the players lift and at least warm my heart.

i don't think we'll win.

I rarely do during these dark times. I just want us to be competitive and play like we give a damn.

Me also

If by some miracle we did you would have to call in the stewards such would be the change in 7 days.

I never, not ever thought I would say this but right now I will go home a happy man with anything under a ten goal loss

As a couple of posters have mentioned, and given it's a 2 horse race, there are some very decent odds about melbourne winning. I've thrown $20.00 in. Stranger things have happened.

Me too (1-39) and a small saver @ 40+ (LMAO). They already owe me heaps but I just can't help myself.

Made Cox captain in Dream Team and Supercoach for this week, he will crap all over Jamar. We will get trounced.

I really hope I'm wrong.

Hopefully Jamar doesn't play :)

I wonder what the odds are on a 60+ point win? Might not be a bad idea considering putting $20 on it if the odds are over $5.

If we lose by over that amount its a win $$$$

If we lose by less than that amount it is a win

This way we can all walk from the G on Saturday happy

Opps my mistake you can't do that West coast wining by 40+ is $1.39

and West Coast winning by 1-39 is $3.90

Who ever thinks this could be a close one see above (or a doctor)!

I think we will show more against them but I think there are players that I hope are not selected and players i want in the side that will probably not be selected.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
