No disrespect to Don McLardy....I know he's done a good job as President of the Melbourne Demons. However, his interview today with the resignation for Cameron Schwab was underwhelming.

Both Jim Stynes (RIP) and Don McLardy were excellent in their efforts of fixing up the mass amount of debt that the Melbourne Football Club had. Nevertheless, we need a NEW culture change at the Melbourne Football Club. People who have leadership and are also a spruikiers of the Demons in the Media. People who will continue to talk about Media and promote us in a positive manner. As we now know, Garry Lyon is "too busy" to help the Demons and we shouldn't expect him to come to our aid. That is why I think we should ask David Schwarz and perhaps also Dr. Turf (John Rothfield) to help with joining the Melbourne Football Club board (yes, I was listening to SEN Radio this afternoon!).

David Schwarz would be an excellent President of the Melbourne Football Club in my honest opinion. We should also look at getting a number of other former MFC players to help out the club. In a kind of "call to arms" at the Demons. I know that Glenn Lovett (the bald one) is now a successful businessman and is somebody who may also like to come and help the Demons out.

Overall, the main thing we need at the Melbourne Football Club NOW is LEADERSHIP and those who wish to CHANGE the culture of the Demons. Somebody who is similar to former Cats President Frank Costa and Collingwood President Eddie "Everywhere" McGuire. As much as I hate Collingwood I respect Eddie McGuire as a good Football Club President.

The time is NOW to change the entire culture at the Melbourne Football Club, from the President down to the boot-studder, and bring about a new and successful future.

In the end we all need to know stick together to help the survival of our beloved Melbourne Football Club.

I think Ox has some bridges to build at the club first, by his own admission.

I'd love to see him on the board though so that we have more footy people involved that can look the players in the eye.

My money is on Healy or Spargo.

Oh Jesus. I love the Ox, but the man's never made a sound decision in his life.

Someone with some business acumen who knows footy, please.

No, too fragile and emotional, wouldn't make a good president.

We need a professional and sadly, as much as Schwab needed to go, he was more professional than Don.

Schwarz isn't a professional bloke, you only have to look as far as him flipping out passionately on the radio to know that he isn't the man for the job.

Sorry mate, but I don't buy in to the Ox being president!, loved the bloke as a footballer but we cannot afford to make another mistake regarding the CEO and president. When you look at Costa, Eddie and what even Kochie is doing at Port, Ox just isn't t in that field.

No. We're not going to sack someone because a few didn't like 1 press conference.

What we need now is unity, get around the club and stop this lynch mob fire everyone mentality. It's very weak.

You guys all seem to like to shoot down my suggestion...but that's fine. But can you provide a BETTER option?

If not David Schwarz then who..??

We need LEADERSHIP!

We need to CHANGE the MFC culture!

We need to to have SUCCESS!

I don't see why there's so much heat on McLardy.

He has stepped up on multiple occasions because the paid CEO wouldn't. And on top of that he was the guy who gave him the goodbye talk.

Let's wait and see how he performs working with a successful CEO.

The Ox is a lot sharper, deeper and smarter than his radio personality demonstrates, but he is neither president nor board material. I really like him on radio, and in his gambling ambassador role there is real substance - these are the places he excels. There is the great risk that he could rise to the level of his incompetence.

Our new leader has to have a strong work ethic, be able to draw sponsors, speak well in the media, work through vision and strategy, and LEAD in a professional environment.

Greg Healy is a strong possibility

Has Leoncelli got any runs on the board?

There's some harsh critics on here!

It was merely a suggestion...

If people have better suggestions then that's fine....I just want a successful culture finally implemented at the Melbourne Football Club.

We haven't had a Premiership since 1964.....we need to work through this problem and solve our issues together.

No more mediocrity and acceptance of near enough is good enough....

I just want to see SUCCESS...I want to see the Melbourne Demons win the Premiership during my lifetime. Is that too much to ask for?

Greg Healy is a better option, and that's without looking outside the existing board.

I wouldn't mind seeing Greg Wells back involved at the Melbourne Football Club.

I honestly don't know much about Greg Wells. I know he was a good player for the Demons back in the 70s and then left to Carlton to play in Premierships.

If he is a good businessman and a passionate Demons supporter who wants to help out the Club then he's more than welcome to help! The more help we get the merrier!

We need someone to rally behind and/or who rally on our behalf as President.

That means a former player of great standing and inspiration or a commercial entity like Eddie.

All options are on the table, especially if the current board can stay largely intact. I wouldn't mind some sort of stability at the club.

I would love TheOx to be heavily involved in some high profile capacity at the club, but President and Board are roles that need smart business people: one with a big footy background as President and who is a good public speaker is needed. I like the suggestions of Loencelli or Grag Healey should they be available and interested.

SD I'd like to see more of the Ox around the club too.........but he's not Prez material

Would be good to get him working with the boys

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
