Anyone that drives around with a BAC of .266 cannot be defended, just because someone gains support doesnt mean they deserve it.

Anyone who needs support rarely 'deserve' it.

Wish the bloke well...wish most peope well.

But I'm now sick to death reading or even needing to hear abour him, especially here on DL.

Can't we just move on to the present ... Melbourne's present and leave LJ to history.

Yes i have to say i am over Liam Jurrah as i am over any player who chooses to leave my club before their potential is even closely met.

The MFC did everything it could for LJ, but he still chose to walk.

The moment i saw him on McGuires program i knew it was a matter of time.

That will be the most interesting chapter in Bruce's book...

I wish Liam all the best but i really do not want to read about it on demonland. It leaves a bad taste.

I worry for Liam's future. Of course no one really knows but if i were to hazard a guess he seems caught somewhere between two distinct worlds. It would be terrific if, down the track, he acknowledged MFC but I would have thought that its a distant concern. Potential jail time would be at the top of his list would it not?

I just wish they would lock this clown up.

I am absolutley ropable that he is still out in society, he constantly puts peoples lives at risk.

He needs to be locked away.

- Tries to kill relative with a machete.

- Drink drives with a huge consumption of alcohol running through him putting society at risk.

Why people show Jurrah compassion is beyond me.

Any caring human being would show compassion to Jurrah given his situation, sooner or later however Liam must take responsibilty for his own actions.

How do you figure, alot of people that need support deserve it, the guys on BAIL for assaulting another human with an axe to the face, then he has the cheek to be caught driving with a BAC of .266, theres plenty of people on this planet that deserve a helping hand

any thank you should've been done publicly. The club was more than owed the positive spin of a public pat on the back for the way it treated him.

So Liam needs less coddling and some tough love but the club needs a pat on the back and a thank-you hug from a project player who didn't work out ..

LOL

As for the "positive spin" - I really don't know what you have in mind. A staged photo shaking hands with Schwab? Gee, stop the presses and hold the front page.

I think that's over the top, however I too never warmed to Rudeboy, even though plenty here fawned to his every utterance. He seemed a little simple to me.

A bit like guys who spend their time writing training reports

Liam has my support too, as have all former Demons bar Voldemort and that oaf who likes doing wheelies and now plays for Carlton.

One of my favourite recents who left us is Aussie - a good bloke who also had to face tragedy and ultimately found life here too hard.

I wish him and Liam well and, though their time at the club wasn't the most successful, I still remember and thank them for the excitement they added to the place in difficult times.

And I don't ask for any thanks from either of them in return.

When you take a person's actions and hold them up to the standards that you apply to yourself, it shows a complete lack of empathy. Liam's life experiences are very different to mine and I can only attempt to imagine what choices I'd make in his circumstances. I love footy, love the Dees but in the end, it's just a game.

Blistering pretty much nails it here;

Of course he may have wanted to avoid more media attention...

And how did that go this time Stuie?

I would have thought that MFC would have made some small mention of a thanks if one was made. Good for both Liam and the club (not to mention us supporters).

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that, from reports I've just received, Aussie and his team, the Tiwi Bombers are traveling nicely ATM. They won tonight and Aussie kicked a goal and also did some good work in the midfield.

In another game Brendan Fevola returned to the NT but failed to impress kicking only two goals for Waratahs who lost a vital game. One of their other gun forwards, Waylen Manson, pulled out before the game.

Now on Twitter that SA Police say he wasn't arrested.

Wait and see I guess. Still ... not looking good for him.

Sad, if not tragic.

People are so concerned with his wellbeing.

1.He was involved in a machette attack

2. He walked out on us without any thank you... nothing.

3.He drove 5 times the legal limit putting more lives at risk.

His story is sad and he could have been a superstar, but for godsake people wake up and smell the roses!

Yeah, let's just live in a world where everyone's discourteous, ungrateful and couldn't give a fig. Be great.

I'm struggling to recall where and when the club made a public statement of thanks to Cook for the effort he put in before axing him without playing a game

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
