FAREWELL CALE MORTON

I'm still wondering about the role of the MFC twitter crew in all of this (i have no idea about twiter by the way and tbh have no plan to).

I would find it curious that anyone connected to the club in any formalish capacity (assimeing MFC TC are cconnected to the club) would be a party to spreading false rumors about a contracted player. Unless of course they have an agenda, in which case that would be pretty grubby

Its not the club. I assume its his mates

The mass exit continues. Green, Jurrah, Rivers, Molloney and now Morton

glad to see the list turnover but why didn't we go after Koby Stevens then? #caughtwithpantsdownagain

Don't see much value in chasing an inexperienced bloke with 11 games under his belt when we're struggling with a lack of experience

Can someone twitter that Mitch Clark has quit the MFC and joined the UFC? http://www.ufc.com/f...er/mitch-Clarke

Sure the surname has an 'e' in it, but the media won't pick up on that.

Most people are intent on spelling it with an E on the end anyway

My other team (Sheffield Wednesday) have a supporters forum that is far more rowdy than here. One of the funniest things the posters over there pulled off was creating a false rumour that Terry Henfleet was in transfer talks with the Owls. Both Sheffield newspapers published articles making reference to the fictious player and a club official was even quoted as saying no-one would be ruled out when asked whether the club were interested in said players. Henfleet shirts are still commonplace at Hillsborough. It's the in-joke that returns every transfer period.

Nice work Chook.

On a more serious note I hope that if they keep Cale they try him in the forward line, he can find space he's got good hands and is a nice kick for goal. I reckon he would be a good option there.

Could be pretty crowded there with Clark, Dawes, Howe, Sylvia, Pedersen, Fitzpatrick, Gawn, Byrnes, Davey, Rodan, Sylvia, Jetta, Blease, Petterd, etc.

You reckon Sylvia will be twice the player next year that he was this year RL?

Seriously though we will have Clark, Dawes, Davey there permanently, Sylvia, Howe, Blease, Byrnes, Pederson and Jetta alternating with the midfield/backline so I think there will be space for Morton if he can get himself right. We also have to take in to consideration that some of the players will be between Melbourne and Casey so you don't have all on the park at once. Players like Fitzpatrick, Petterd and Rodan will get games where it's warranted but I don't expect to see them in the side very week. I wouldn't expect to see Morton in the side every week either.

Actually the MCG at approx 174 x 147 metres is a bigger expanse than Subi.

The Subiaco oval is longer by a few metres but at approx 120 metres, not nearly as wide.

As for Cale Morton and others who are rumoured to be departing - I hope Neeld and crew aren't doing to us what Royce Hart did to Footscray!

Funny you mentioned the width.

Went there about 3 years ago and thought the shape resembled a rugby ball rather than an Aussie Rules ball; never seen a ground that shape ever.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
