The Draft Combine had Jesse weighing in at 97.4 kilos. He also has a hand span of 24.8 centimetres, which is 0.3 less than ruckman Brodie Grundy.

Please mfc get this kid.

in comparison to the other skills of the game, goalkicking is one of the easiest to fix. by training with the other forwards, as well as coaching from leigh brown, hogan could easily develop a new routine that would lead to more reliable kicking. if that's the only problem in his game then i don't think we have much to worry about if we pick him up

especially when he's younger, like a 17 Yr old.

The aggro at the heavy contests, & a feel for the game itself, are harder to find. Footy IQ + some mongrel.

I don't think it is that easy; it would be great if we could to have a player like Cloke, Riewoldt or Richardson, but they have all suffered from an inability to convert over their careers and it has made them lesser players than Dunstall, Lockett and Carey for example. If it was that easy they would have fixed it.

It depends if you want a full forward goal shooter, of a tough CHF roaming around casing mayhem. Lloyd was a goalshooter, richo was a combo, JRiewoldt seems to better inside 50.

It sounds to me like the boys a hard nut Who catches everything in his vicinity.

I was meaning Nick, Jack is a long way off the players I mentioned.

But be that as it may the weekends game and Buddy just highlight how difficult it is to get the kicking right and how it can cost in the big games.

...and having said that, if he was half as good as Buddy he would be a good get. I'm not sure we have the luxury of picking up a player for 2014 although I'm getting a bit philosophical (more to the point worn out by all the BS being talked by the key players and reporters in this trade period, it's only day 4) about the whole thing now and will just see what happens.

It seems as if we are interested in Jesse so pick 3 or 4 might be on the table.

Speculation of Dogs giving 5 & 6 to GWS and getting a pick or player back, plus first MD pick. Further that Dogs would then go for Martin. In fact they may go for Hogan as they also need a KPF.

Whoever they take, what would that then value MD pick 2 at. Pick 4 is better than either 5 or 6 but clearly not as good as both but need to deduct what comes back their way. Pick 4 is better than anyone other than GC could give. MD 2 is clearly less than MD 1. I think this will make for an interesting negotiation. Could we offer 4 for MD 2 with something back our way? It will also depend on Dogs letting us know who they will take with MD 1, so we can value MD 2.

Side benefit is that GWS knowing we are interested but only if Viney goes later so we can still use 3. Downside may be that we are giving pick 4 now on a player who can't play for a year and might actually slide in his own draft year making it a big overpayment.

Oh the fun of being a Recruiter and List Manager.

Still seems there is speculation as to whether Kelly or Hogan will be the second mini draft selection. Josh has performed well at the combine so far; just set the second fastest 3km time ever recorded (9:48) whilst also placing in top 5 for repeated sprints. I'll be happy with either not so sure some others on this board would be.

Hogan has to be our target. Has all the sise and athletic ability of a very very good power forward.

I would trade our pick 4 for him.

The talk has been the dogs and Martin but as "Redleg" says they may go Hogan. My bet would be on Hogan as they are crying out for a big forward and have enough skinny kids of their own. I think there will only be one MD player taken unless GC get into the act or GWS are prepared to take bids from further down the pecking order.

Guest José Mourinho

FFS.

I couldn't trade pick 3 or 4 for the rights to him quick enough.

Only problem is the doggies entering the picture.

I think the reported interested in Jack Martin is a ruse and they have their eyes on Hogan.

KPF is their biggest need.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
