Has copped a lot of unfair criticism - fantastic set shot to win the game after the siren.

Shows the real danger of selling home games.

Justice as well for GC and escape from embarrasment for the AFL and the umps after that disgusting dive by Reilwoldt, what a cretin!

At least if they're paying well over the odds for him they got somebody with the mental fortitude to finish from that position.

They are barely paying are they? isnt it all AFL cash? would definitely take Karmichael on our team, and good on him, must be pretty driven ect to make it in 2 world class sports. And Ruby league :P

Im rapt for the gold coast. Also I think this puts GWS back on the bottom. But im glad we wern't the first team to lose to them. Its weird how they can thrash hawthorn yet blow this game to the bottom team.

But hopefully Karmichael has shut up the people who have knocked him. he did something tonight that professional footballers who have been in the system for 10 years cant do. he was just so calm and went back and slotted it.

Somebody's paying him zillions to be a good ordinary player. The line blurs between Gold Coast/GWS and the AFL considering they're practically the same organisations.

Still, cop that Richmond.

Fantastic, go Harmicheal !!!

But, can I hear the Tune of a marching Surf Rescue Band???

I hope I'm not witnessing the emergence of the Gold Coast only for them to finish 2nd last on the 2012 Ladder, & then for them to ontrade that 2nd pick to The Giants for an U-17 Yr old Key position player from WA.

Two years in a row Suns have beaten them up there!

I think it would be better for the Suns to finish 18th. They will take Whitfield and then GWS will take Grundy.

If GWS finish 18th they may decide to take Whitfield. Suns would then look a lot more closely at bidding for Viney as they don't need Grundy and would rather an inside mid.

Has anyone considered that we are only one game (and %) away from last?

Interesting position we're in now hey ?

Oh no , please no !

its really like 2 games difference as the percentage gap is pretty big (7% with gc and 20% with gws)

Was a little down after today's loss, although I'm getting too used to it, but that put a smile on my face and the only thing that make smile harder was the thought of the look on the tigers fans faces! They are just so entertaining!

The outcome will be decided in the side of the season though, with 3-4 winnable games we should get to about 4 wins imo

Every game is winnable. I thought we'd have 3-4 games won in the first half of the season. I honestly don't think that we can win more than 2 for the rest of the season. Who else are we likely to beat? GWS and GC? After GCs performance today, that's not a lock in.

I think we'll finish 16th on % only from GWS and GC.

Port really and GWS and GC

I think the Dogs have an interesting finish to the season, they could easily not win another game for the season, no easy games ie Port GWS or GC for them. They are 3 wins ahead of us at present though

Great result all round, really. Karmichael is working really hard and showing that he is most likely going to make it as a good AFL player, Gold Coast get the monkey off the back, and Richmond has a massive spanner thrown into their attempt to make finals. Good stuff.

Thank goodness for Richmond. Courtesy of losing on the siren to a team that had lost about 20 in a row in a home game they sold for cash, the tigers will almost certainly miss the top eight and in doing so prevent Melbourne from owning the longest current finals drought.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
