It's a funny time of the day to start the game (3:15pm) but I suppose the game now belongs to the Seven Network and not the people.

Question marks on whether the two named emergencies who missed the Casey game, Sam Blease and Cale Morton will replace someone i.e do we have a mystery injury of the week?

On the other hand, will Sheedy sneak his best player this year, Chad Cornes, back into the line up after telling all and sundry that the old codger needs a rest?

Just heading off. Lunch with mates first. This a very important game for us. Melbourne has shown some recent turnaround in form, especially against Essendon and the filth. After a break to freshen up and reset we must continue this momentum. Anything less than a convincing win against these losers is not acceptable and would set us back.

Interesting theory re Blease & Morton. Who are they capable of replacing, and are there rumours about any of them? Can't see it being a tall or an inside mid, so are there two possible outside mid/flankers under a cloud?

Its windy with the threat of showers and our backline already looks too tall. I expect it will be a tall for one of them unless there is a late injury to be covered.

Stupid start time. I remember the good old days (three years ago) when games started around 2:00PM or even 1PM. Now I've got even more time to waste before it starts. Oh well, I'm at work, so I guess I should probably waste it working.

Not that it's any great shakes, but I'm tipping Cornes will play. Sheedy's desire to beat us will overwhelm development of a youngster on this occasion.

I like the start can close shop and get home to see most of the game.

Weather miserable here so the fire the footy and a .....

victory was where I was heading

Morton gets to have another week off.

How is this supposed to improve him ?

Surely a game with Casey to try & improve his deficiencies would have been more beneficial.

the only way to improve Mortons deficiences would be a long term residence at Moloneys Boxing camp, though if that was too tough for him then perhaps season as 'enforcer' at the Lingerie Football league

Anyone else listen to triple m with the Silvani interview. Stevo pressed pretty hard regarding fatty Phil. Silvani got pretty worked up. Unfortunately the others like Carey seemed uninterested. Would have love someone to ask whether he would have been recruited if his son wasn't Tom!

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
