Sloppy footy but at least we're leading. Our disposal still worries me as does these players input.

Davey 6 - Looks lost, some shocker handballs

Magner 7 - Reminds me of an old Jones, butchers it, looks tired.

Trengove 8 - Need more from him, slow.

Moloney 9 - No influence, need more from our no.1 mid.

Not good enough.

Very pleased with Tom McDonald today.

Howe good was Dunns kick out from fullback in the first Q.....Bloody hell it landed next to the center circle!

Geez, we've got some, a lot, of improving to do in all areas, but our kicking skills and decision making really need a lot of work, real happy to be beating this orange band of krisnas

Tom Mac's kicking is atrocious.

Magner looks horrible.

Sylvia, Clark, Mckenzie, Jones, Sellar, Dunn etc have been good.

Am i alone in thinking Daveys done ok. A few times he just needed to go himself rather than a silly handball ( that are invariably to slick for receiver) otherwise his vision and setups have been very good

Beamer looks 40.

No, you're not alone in that thought at all... he has done a few good things today. What we see on this forum is generally a Pavlovian form of conditioned response to anything players like Davey, Morton, MacDonald, etc do.

Tom McDonald's kicking is a liability. Guy competes his butt off, but he butchers simple kicks far too frequently

McDonald improves each week.

Half time feature on jones terrific.

Any news on Mitch?

Don't know how you can say this about Davey. He's been very quiet. He can still hit up a pass which is good but just can't get into the pace of the game. You can't see that?

Theres promise out there....just not a lot of polish !!!

I'm at the game and had a quick look here at half time. The Game Day thread certainly attracts some ... interesting views.

Makes me happy to know that these threads are usually closed by the time I get home.

I hope we play Sellar on Merrett next week, and even let him spend some time on Brown. He keeps solidifying his place down back and i can imagine taking a big scalp will make him get even better (confidence player).

I have actually seen him give off the ball a few times to good effect (a couple of times not so)... maybe we are both missing something?

C'mon DEE's let's DOMINATE em

Yeah, at this stage. But he's only 19 or so, and this will get better. Loving his push 'n shove attitude aggresive with Patton.

Clark didn't run out after half time.

Looks like a hefty knee to the top o his head he was either concussed or potential neck soreness. Hope he's back quick smart

Can Moloney possibly play any worse?

there's ol Dazzle

On ya, Davey. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't want him to succeed. Let's hope he can.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
